1. Posts made on the {UFP} forums should only be in English. Content that does not conform to this standard including but not limited to spelling, grammar and/or legibility of text may be removed.
2. When posting on any {UFP} asset or forum, ensure the content submitted is appropriate and on focus. Topics outside the scope of certain forums and/or topics may be moved, locked or removed.
3. Before creating a thread, use the forum Search function to try and find previously relevant threads or post. We have a large forum community and there is a good chance that your question/suggestion has been posted in the past.
4. Respect every forum member and admin. All forum posters are to be treated equally with respect. Repeatedly using vulgar language and flaming somebody is not acceptable behavior. Respect admins, as they are the authority of the forums. Speaking to them with intentional spite will not be tolerated and may result in the loss of your forum privileges.

1. Spamming content on {UFP} owned, controlled assets or forums is not permitted and is subject to Starfleet Command investigation and/or removal of membership. This includes, but is not limited to continual advertising, posting significant amounts of content within a short time and/or plain flooding of the forum.
2. Foreign Fleet Advertising is strictly prohibited and may be removed with or without notice. Only through written consent from Starfleet Command and/or Internal Affairs may this be authorised.
3. When posting on {UFP} controlled assets [or] forums, if quite a significant amount of multimedia is going to be posted such as screenshots, place a warning in the subject line and if possible add them as attachments since this will reduce bandwidth and better the user experience.
4. Direct or indirect ‘flaming’ of any forum member to incite or perpetuate a conflict or argument is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate action by a moderator. Any forum topic which a member of staff deems as controversial or that may possibly lead to an argument/flame war will be closed or deleted.
5. Abuse of the Private Messaging System is against forum rules. If anyone sends threats or insults to you via the Private Message system, contact a moderator who will act accordingly.
6. When creating a new topic ensure that the subject line is descriptive and is easily understandable. Subject lines that do not specify content or are inflammatory may be removed and/or changed by moderators.
7. The tone of content posted on {UFP} property is also evaluated by Moderators. Anything deemed in breach of Forum Rules and/or Code of Conduct is subject to removal.
8. Any attempt to manipulate the coding of the site, or perform any actions not of normal operations of the site will result in immediate action by the Fleet Issues Secretary, most likely resulting in an IP ban and membership cancellation.
 - One forum signature no larger than the standardized {UFP} signature.
- A few lines of text is permitted within a signature, however if the amount of text used is deemed as excessive by a moderator, it will be removed.
- Excessively animated images are not to be used on the forums.
- Repeated abuse of signature rules will result in personalized signature privileges being revoked [or] removed.
- Use, copying or editing of the {UFP}standardized signature in any format is expressly forbidden unless written consent is obtained from Starfleet Command prior to use.

1. If there are problems with content posted on any {UFP} controlled assets, users are encouraged to use the 'Report Post' function when they believe the Code of Conduct or Forum Rules have been breached.

1. Warnings are given by admins to those who break the rules. Warnings are issued by Internal Affairs or the Fleet Issues Secretary (Chris Halsey). All warnings are logged in the fleet's records for efficiency, and we are aware of those who have a “previous record”. The most common method of action towards offenders is the following:
- Users breaking our rules may be warned via Internal Affairs and/or Starfleet Command. Based on the severity of the action, moderators may issue warnings and/or deny access to the site/forums for a duration of time. Placing of probationary periods on members is also a course of action that is preferred.
- Continued violation of the Forum Rules and/or Code of Conduct may result in the account/membership being temporarily suspended or permanently terminated.
2. If a problem arises a ban has to be put into place, it will usually be a temporary ban as opposed to a permanent ban. Creating secondary accounts to circumvent a ban is prohibited. In such cases, both accounts may be deleted and IP bans put in place.
3. Creating multiple user accounts is not permitted unless sufficient reasons are provided for doing so. Multiple user accounts connected to one person/entity will leave these accounts open to deletion at any time with or without prior notice.
4. Users that have viable complaints against a moderator are recommended to attempt to solve the situation via Private Message or via email. If trouble continues, the user may make a complaint to the Fleet Issues Secretary (currently Chris Halsey). Contacting anyone else or posting publically about moderation issues may result in the user being ignored or banned.
5. Harassment of any {UFP} member through any means is strictly prohibited and will be subject to action by Starfleet Command and/or Internal Affairs. If content is serious enough, this may result in criminal/legal charges being filed in the country of the user's residence.

1. The {UFP} forums are a privately funded, privately operated closed community forum. It is not an open public community forum where "free speech" is a right. Our approach is to only intervene in order to ensure the smooth running of the forums when users breach the above policies. However, there may be occasions where we need to intervene for reasons beyond the scope of the policies listed on this page and we reserve the unconditional right to do so in order to protect ourselves, our users and the goals of the site itself.
2. Starfleet Command and Internal Affairs Moderators reserve the right to edit or remove posts.
3. Starfleet Command and Internal Affairs reserve the right to edit, access, ban or delete user accounts and profiles at their discretion without giving prior warning.
