According to a release by Cryptic Studios, account information for an unannounced number of users was compromised in December 2010, and was only recently uncovered by a security analysis performed by the company.
The release states that names, handles, email addresses, dates of birth, billing address, encrypted passwords, and partial credit card numbers may be among the information compromised.
Users of the service who may have been affected (including this reporter) have been contacted by email, and advised to change their password if used on other services and accounts, particularly if they are financial in nature.
In their release, Cryptic Studios said "We are continuing to investigate this incident, and are taking even further action to strengthen our systems and redouble our security vigilance and protections."
As more information on the security leak becomes available, the Federation News Network will keep you apprised of the situation.
