UFP Simm Expanding - NEW Simm Launches this week!

I am happy to announce that the UFP Simms are expanding. We are opening up a second simm called Starbase Legacy that will be a certain 2409-modern take on DS9. And thus, we are ready to take some applications for those interested in this great new opportunity.

For those of you unfamiliar with the simms, they are a series of text-based roleplay games where a collection of players write stories based in the Star Trek universe in a collaborative way. Each player takes the role of a character on a starship or starbase and lives out that life in many text-based adventures. We started with the USS August exploratory cruiser, and have expanded into a defense and supply outpost with SB Legacy.

If you're interested in joining us, we encourage you to get your application in now so we can start filling in spots - both simms have spots available at the moment. Read through the welcome thread below and use the Join Now form when you're ready to hop on board.

Just wanted to take a second to thank SFC/FNN for the plug. As for anyone thinking about coming onboard. Just jump on in! The simm is easy to use and it really doesn't take long learn the ropes.

I thought you might Kyuu, good to have you aboard anyway! Although I assume your going for Starbase Legacy since your ah, whole 'persona' is geared towards that.

I'm interested in the simm, but it seems very overwhelming as I'm looking through all of the previous material that has been done. I'm trying to decide if I have the time to devote to it to make sure I do it right.

I encourage anyone to weigh it carefully as Clulyan has, but also to take Belcans' advice and if you really want to do it just jump in and we'll help you through it. All it requires is a couple posts a week, and often times you're involved in a JP for a week or two and that counts as well. It's a great way to have some fun, show some creativity, and yet not necessarily have to whip out a video game or graphics software. Web browser + fingertips + a bit of time = simming bliss!

And as always, ping Belcans or I (or Joshua A. Broughm, another of our GMs) a PM, or bug me on TS - I'm on there in text-mode most US business days.

Glad to see folks getting interested - I think Legacy is going to add a whole new layer to the simms (and not just allow for more capacity).

I am happy to announce that all the prep work and initial membership joining has completed and we are ready to launch the 2nd UFP Simm, Starbase Legacy! So please head on over to the UFP Simms Forum area and use the Welcome Post to find out more information and join. We still need people on these simms and always welcome newcomers. If you're creative, want to write, and don't want to always be held down by a graphical game engine, the simms may be just for you!
