Personality & Traits

General Overview Had fast rising Starfleet Officer Career, recognized in the Starfleet medical community as an emerging leader among shipboard Medical professionals. A recent incident aboard the USS Houston resulted in a demotion to Lieutenant-*-. Interestingly, upon his release he was awarded the Starfleet Medal of Honor-*- for actions taken during the same incident.

Casey is now trying to put that behind him, although occasional reminders from those that feel he should have received a harsher punishment as well as by those who defend those same actions. Casey is just ready to get on with his life and Outpost 42 seems like a good place to start.

Excerpt from the official Starfleet Command investigation surrounding the charges against Commander St.Duiex for insubordination and exceeding his authority while assigned to the USS Houston:

“On SD241010.17 the USS Houston led a task force against a Borg Fleet where the Houston was ultimately destroyed. Moments prior to its destruction the structural integrity field around the warp coils collapsed. Commander St. Duiex was on the bridge at that time and urgently asserted the need to Admiral D’Vak to abandon ship. As D’Vak ordered the Houston to continue to press the engagement Commander St.Duiex initiated the abandon ship protocol.

Moments later the USS Houston was struck her amidships with a plasma lance, and the Houston exploded seconds later while at the same time the warp coils ruptured. Most of the crew survived through the timely use of the escape pods.-*-”

Strengths & Weaknesses Casey often leads with his heart over his head. This has proven to be both an asset and a detriment as recent events have highlighted to him. He is an exceptionally qualified MD and Surgeon but sometimes will circumvent protocol to ensure that his goals are met.
