Captain Nicholas Teron
Name Nicholas Torias Teron
Position Commanding Officer
|Hair Color||Greying brown|
|Physical Description||Nick has crew cut salt and pepper colored hair and a closely cut mustache and beard. His brow wears the wrinkles of over 20 years of commanding starships and a battle scar on the right side of his face that he never allowed medical to regenerate. He considers it a badge of honor received during a borg invasion of a Klingon colony he defended alongside General Martok's son Drex.|
|Father||Mitchell Teron (Deceased)|
|Mother||Samantha Teron (Deceased)|
|Other Family||Earth Ambassador Steven Teron (Uncle)|
Personality & Traits
|General Overview||Over 30 years in Starfleet have softened Nick from the gruff, hard-nosed skipper he once was, but he still runs a tight ship. He's generally easygoing with a good sense of humor. He's thoughtful with a heart of gold, but not overly social. Being more of a soldier than a diplomat, he often avoids (to the best of his ability) official diplomatic gatherings, preferring the company of those under his command. Nick has lived, ate, and breathed Starfleet and never really got around to relationships - something that he regrets now that he's getting older.|
|Strengths & Weaknesses||Strengths: Quick-witted, strong leadership skills, fearless.
Weaknesses: Can be quick tempered at time, socially awkward at official functions, and at times can be prone to periods of isolation.
|Ambitions||Nick has basically achieved all that he wanted to in his career. He never had any aspirations for the Admiralty, being completely satisfied being in the center seat of a starships' bridge. The fact that he's been transferred to command of Starbase 801 rankles him a bit as he's always wanted to be on the front lines.|
|Hobbies & Interests||Nick has an extensive collection of real books in his quarters, preferring them to data pads. He is also an avid painter of some note, enjoying the peace and tranquility the creation of a piece gives him.|
|Personal History||Born a spacer - Nick's parents ran a freighter outfit - Nick has rarely spent anytime on Earth outside of the occasional trips to San Francisco. Nick is an avid shuttle pilot, he began making short courier runs for his parents at the early age of 12. Always loving the feeling of commanding a ship, any ship, Nick was a shoe-in candidate when he became of age to apply for the academy. His parents weren't overly thrilled that Nick wanted to join Starfleet instead of growing into the family business, but they did their best to be understanding and support his decision.
Nick graduated the academy at a dark time in the galaxy, the Dominion War was raging and the political tensions between the dominant races in the Alpha quadrant were stretched thin. With a zealous work ethic, and a lot of grit, Nick flew up through the ranks and obtained his first command at just 28 years of age. He relished the opportunity and threw himself into his work, obtaining the rank of Captain just two years later and he never looked back. Several times over the last 25 years, Starfleet Command has tried to promote him to the rank of Rear Admiral, but so far Nick has been able to avoid the promotion. Now after 27 years of being in command of a starship, SFC has taken Nick out of the center seat and ordered him to take on a new challenge as the commander of a newly built spacestation called Starbase Legacy SB801.
