Cryptic Studios & Perfect World Entertainment announced today that additional Trek alumni will be reprising their roles in Star Trek Online's latest expansion. Ethan Phillips, Robert Picardo, and Jeri Ryan will be joining Tim Russ and Garrett Wang who were both previously announced at Star Trek: Las Vegas in August.

Ethan Phillips who played Neelix in Star Trek: Voyager was last seen in the episode "Homestead", where Voyager and her crew encountered a Talaxian colony. Neelix decided to stay behind with his people. STO's development team announced that Talaxians will be a part of the upcoming update, so it is a fair assumption that players will be revisiting the colony which Voyager left Neelix at. Phillips has guest starred on shows including The Mentalist, Chuck and Castle.

Jeri Ryan, who since departing Star Trek: Voyager, has appeared in many major US Television shows including: Boston Public, Leverage, Body of Proof and Helix. Jeri Ryan will be joining Star Trek: Online, reprising her role as Annika Hansen, more commonly known as her Borg designation, Seven of Nine. According to the Path to 2409, Seven of Nine after returning from the Delta Quadrant, spent time working with Starfleet's Borg Task Force until it was disbanded in 2385. She parted ways with Starfleet shortly thereafter.

Robert Picardo will be reprising his fan-favorite role as The Doctor, Voyager's Emergency Medical Hologram. Since departing Voyager, Robert Picardo has maintained an active presence on Television, guest staring in Hawaii Five-0, The Mentalist, and is due to appear in Star Trek: Renegades as Doctor Lewis Zimmerman. The Doctor, according to The Path to 2409 has spent a significant amount of time in the Federation Courts battling for possession of the Mobile Emitter which Voyager brought back from the late 20th Century in the two-part episode "Future's end".

This casting announcement is the largest single jump in Star Trek Voice talent joining the team since the game's launch. Phillips, Picardo, Ryan, and Wang will be joining Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Michael Dorn, Tim Russ, and Denise Crosby who have all previously starred in Featured Episodes in Star Trek: Online.

Pretty exciting stuff, it's great to hear old voices and presences from the television show. New content like this amazes me how STO remains F2P, or even solvent. Buy those ships people, and perhaps next we'll get Patrick Stewart!

Yes, that's awesome! Too bad we have to wait another month, but I guess we can handle it.

Or wait for a nice tribble patch like today's. Smile

They did say that they are WIP as of today though.

Wow I can't wait to explore the Delta Quadrant next month.

Am I the only one who thinks 7 f 9 looks a little off? The others look great, but she's a little strange to me.

They all look a little off to me, all really sad, like something bad has happened.

We all know the first thing that The Doctor is going to say when he shows up. I'm excited to hear it in STO. Big Grin

That's awesome news!! I was expecting one or two actors, not as many as they got. I'm so looking forward to it!

Seven needs her head shrunk and a few other things, um, retooled. Captain Kim is way off and Neelix looks like he started eating spinach (Popeye style). The Doctor and Tuvok are the only ones that look pretty decent in that shot.

Overall, I'm excited to see their characters and hear their voices again. Makes me actually look forward to Delta Rising now! ;-)

Very cool news! This is exactly the kind of thing STO needs!

I don't know for certain but I think it probably doesn't cost them that much.

A great number of Star Trek actors have shown a willingness to participate in things for little (if any) financial compensation.

I imagine a number of them would be more than happy to do voice work for STO without charging through the roof for it, it is an opportunity to bring their characters back to life in front of millions of fans.

I bet they are holding out Kate Mulgrew as a surprise, reason being, the easter egg that Smirk was talking about was the line in the announcement for the Voyager interior that said "on the bridge with Janeway herself". I could be wrong but I have a funny feeling. How can you have epic Delta quadrant things happening without the woman who started it all...

I have a feeling you are correct. I hope her spending time in a prison jumpsuit hasn't diluted her desire for coffee, black.

That being said, I wouldn't necessarily mind seeing 'Red' in Star Trek Smile

That would be a very pleasant surprise!

Yes, I hope we'll get to see new and old familiar faces. Would love to see Icheb and Naomi Wildman's actor come back and voice their respective characters specially since this expac is so Voyager themed.

And they really need to touch up Icheb and Naomi's NPC, at the moment they look nothing like the actors, especially Icheb.
