Star Trek film producer Harve Bennett has passed away.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

Harve Bennett, producer of Star Trek II, III and IV, passed away on February 25 at the age of 84 from complications from a recent fall, just two days before the passing of Leonard Nimoy. Bennett produced some of the most iconic Star Trek movies, and was the man behind the The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman.

Bennett was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1930, and as a child appeared on the radio show Quiz Kids. After he graduated from the University of California Los Angeles Film School, he would later become one of CBS’s youngest executives. Later he became VP of Daytime Programming and eventually VP of Programming at ABC.

Bennett not only served the American people and the world through the creation of one of the most famous science fiction series, but also served stateside in the US Army during the Korean War.

In 1998 he produced and acted in the animated series Invasion America, as President McAllister. During his time working on this series, he worked with Leonard Nimoy as a voice actor. His latest piece, that was produced in 2010, was the short film Final Run, where he did voice work as the Aurora computer.

Bennett and Gene Corman won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Special for their work on A Woman Called Golda. He also was nominated for a Hugo award for his work on Star Trek II, III, & IV. In the films, Bennett made a cameo as the flight recorder in Star Trek III, and as Fleet Admiral Robert Bennett in Star Trek IV.

Mr. Bennett, you and your work shall be missed.

I will miss him. he was a good producer. But Very interesting how close to Nimoy
