New behind the scene footage confirms that Simon Pegg will make an appearance in Star Wars The Force Awakens. "My whole life has lead to this moment. I'm in heaven." Pegg said in the behind the scene video, which shows quite a lot of footage from the new film. Including scenes, explosions, crew meetings, and the construction of a to scale millennium falcon.

Star Wars The Force Awakens Comic Con 2015 ReelSimon's role in the film is yet to be confirmed.JJ Abrams introduced the video at the San Diego Comic Con this year. The video, which runs 3 minutes and 42 seconds shows Pegg, along with co-stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Peter Mayhew and Anthony Daniels, Lupita Nyong'o, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, and Abrams himself on day one of production.

In the video you hear about how the sets are real, the effects are more realistic, and everything is made to be tangible and as real as possible. In essence they’re not just filming star wars, they’re going the extra mile to make it as real as possible. “Nothing's changed really, well, everything has changed but nothing has changed... That's how you want it to be." Mark Hamill said.

After showing this video Abrams invited guest to a concert for the fans, where according to reports everyone was given a free lightsaber. Unfortunately they weren’t real lightsabers… Then again that may be a good thing. The film is set to awaken on December 18, for more information about the premier and general information visit the film’s website.

Thanks for the report, Kraziyk, it's definitely interesting to see Simon Pegg elsewhere. I suppose he being part of a team of co-writers for the next Star Trek film makes sense now. And it's not the first time a talent follows a director, we've seen it several times with JJ and Bad Robot productions. Still I'm genuinely excited to see Star Wars and maybe a little more than the next Star Trek film. Thanks again for the article!

I love that clip from SDCC. I think the physical sets and effects are going to make The Force Awakens amazing.

Great article as always, KraziyK.

Oh I totally forgot to comment on that aspect as well. Yes, I too feel the same way as Dentari. Honestly with the"prequels" and it's heavy dependence on CGI, lost a lot of the magic from the originals. One can argue it was done on purpose because it was a different era but I have to say, I appreciate films with more practical effects because in fact it does give it more of a sense of realism.

There is a delicate balance with CGI, it's far more cost-effective and can provide some spectacular realism if done right. You can definitely tell when it's done wrong and it just immediately breaks immersion for me.

I like the idea of a real set, real (or more realistic props), etc. because I know from personal experience that for actors it make thing easier and helps you become more emersed in the role. That all translates to the viewers, and it just makes things come together. You're in the hallway of the death star, your flying the Falcon, you're not staring at a half wall, and a blue screen or what not. While I've always been a Star Trek person, Star Wars has always had a special allure as the darker, dingy, sci-fi series for me and it's had a more realistic feel in some ways. Far fewer fix it buttons to, if you get my meaning, so I can't wait to see it.

Also glad that you all like the article. FNS is working hard to keep them coming.
