Ever wanted to communicate with someone at the tap of a badge like Captain Picard? Of course you have! Which is why FAMETEK have developed a bluetooth communicator in the style of the TNG combadge. The range of features include, most helpfully being able to answer/make phone calls handsfree and without earphones, though this will mean everyone can hear your call! The mic is built in omni-directional with noise cancellation, you can use SIRI and Google Now with it (I suspect even Cortana will answer) and the most important feature, the chrip noise!

The badge is available to order from the StarTrek.com store here for $79.95, shipping in November so not quite out just yet. It will be interesting to find out the quality of the microphone that is built in, if it's decent quality, you can sit in your car and talk to people, wouldn't recommend it in public. You can find the full list of features and more information on the FAMETEK website here, which gives you the specifications as well.

If TNG wasn't your thing, there is also the TOS communicator from the Wand Company, which you can find over on their website here, which is again a bluetooth connected communicator, but you can flip it open to answer your calls! Not suitable for driving and the price range is a little higher, but it does come packed with more goodies. UK looking at the £119.95 price point and $149.99 US, though there are going to be other sellers as well!

Are either of these items that interest you? Maybe purely on the novelty over the usability?

That's cool! It looks a little on the chunky side though
