Star Trek Shuttle PC Mod

Fans of Star Trek may love to have a ship design for their computer case, here's one such design.

Over at PCGamer.com, they like to showcase a build of the week, the one for this week happened to be a Star Trek shuttle. The USS Dragon-1, complete with some stylish blue LEDs, they work much better in the nacelles than for the interior itself, but creating a Trek internal wouldn't be too easy, you might struggle to get everything in, as well as not being able to show off the components.

Size: 36.8 KBTalking of components, here is what is inside (From PCGamer):
Mobo: MSI Z270 Gaming M7
GPU: MSI GTX 980 Ti Lightning
CPU: Intel i7 6700K
RAM: HyperX Predator 32GB DDR4
SSD: HyperX Savage 240GB
PSU: Enermax Revolution SFX 650W
Fans: Enermax D.F. Vegas

As well as a nice watercooling setup, the SSD being just 240GB would need some more storage added in to play some games on this machine, sadly, no modern Star Trek games to make use of that 980 Ti at the moment, outside of the VR game. The webpage for this build tells us that it took 200 hours to complete!

There is also a video you can watch of this whole build below.

What are your thoughts on this case mod, is it something you would like to have yourself? Or possibly even modify other electronics to look like something from Star Trek? As always, you can leave your thoughts below and if you are interested in case mods, take a look at more by random2k4design here.

Very nice indeed! If I had the skill, I would make mine look like a Borg cube. I think it would look fantastic, sadly I have little to no creative ability Cry

This is pretty awesome! It combines two things I love, Tech, and Star Trek! Pretty Beast of a computer too, may not be bleeding edge, but still more then enough.

I would go with the model of NCC-1701-a design from the movie Star Trek The Motion Picture.

I think a Borg cube case would actually be easier to make, since it's a cube and you don't really have to mess around too much with trying to fit everything in. Infact, if gives you plenty of room too for cooling and you can even have a basement for your PSU! Get some green LED strips that can fade and flicker, you'd be all set!

It's the actual cutting and design of the case that would be the hard part, you can always get someone else to do all the detail work, then do all the assembly yourself.
