During the 7th Annual Home Media Awards, Star Trek titles were awarded a set of honors that surpassed those in the awards show alongside them.

Star Trek's 50th Anniversary Box Set for Blu-Ray was awarded "Title of the Year" and "Best Franchise Collection". The box set included many classic Star Trek titles such as: All three seasons of The Original Series, The entire run of the Animated Series and the first six feature films starring the original crew. That included extra materials that no other anniversary box set had included before.

Alongside the Anniversary set, the Star Trek Community can also rejoice at the honors given to Star Trek II: The Director's Cut and The Roddenberry Vault that also received awards and recognition for their Restoration and Bonus Material respectively.

Fans who own the Blu-Ray 50th Anniversary Box set were encouraged to post their feelings about this on the Star Trek Social Media page and email the orginal series' production staff through a website that has since been closed.

Other films being recognized were: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Best Digital Movie Release, Best A/V Quality, Blu-ray Movie and Fan-Favorite Title of the Year), Fox's Deadpool (Best Theatrical Release on Disc and Best Comedy), Fox’s The Revenant for Best 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc and HBO's Game of Thrones: The Complete Sixth Season for Blu-ray, Best Drama and Best Digital TV Release.

I am always glad to see star trek getting some love. Imagine how happy the fans would be if they remaster DS9 like that Smile
