Star Trek Online is set to launch another expansion later this year, called "Victory is Life", this is going to be a Deep Space Nine themed expansion. You can visit our discussion thread on the forums about this expansion here and see how other members reacted to the news!

The Jem’Hadar faction will be unlocked for players to taken on, and will for players to visit the Gamma Quadrant in six new episodes, against the Hur’q. Additionally, you will be interacting with well known members from Deep Space Nine, with the original actors taking on the voice, these include Quark (Armin Shimerman), Odo (René Auberjonois), Kira Nerys (Nana Visitor) and Martok (J.G. Hertzler).

There are also more names still to be revealed, six other actors to be exact! These will be released on the STO's Facebook and Twitter pages soon.

Below you can see the trailer for the expansion.

Deep Space Nine recently celebrated it's 25th anniversary, and in the press release for the expansion, Stephen Ricossa said “We couldn’t think of a better way of celebrating Deep Space Nine, than resurrecting the characters so many fans adored and reuniting this special cast in Star Trek Online,” the executive producer of Star Trek Online then went on to say “Our new expansion pays tribute to the television series that boldly explored important social issues and left a lasting impact on an entire generation of Star Trek fans.

Players who create a Jem’Hadar character will start at level 60 with a variety of completed Reputations, Specialization Trees, Duty Officer tracks, and R&D progress. This means they will only have to gain 5 more levels to reach the new level cap of 65 in the Victory is Life expansion.

Additionally with the expansion, we will see a new queue, added progression system and all-new Sector Battlezone, a new gameplay feature that takes players into a war between the stars to save the Gamma Quadrant. Additional features included with Victory is Life will be revealed at launch.

Hopefully, everyone is looking forward to this expansion!

Too excited doesn’t even cover this! I have wanted a new faction for so long particularly one that’s massively different - I’m hoping for playable cardassian characters as well as Jem Hadar!

I would love to have playable Cardassians at some point but I don't think it will be as big a faction expansion compared to Legacy of Romulus considering where it's starting level wise so that will be interesting.

Having said that I fully freaked out when I read about Garak and Bashir returning so I am looking forward to seeing those two again, Quark too and if they managed to get O'Brien as well that would be pretty sweet. If not him then Jeffery Combs as a Weyoun because Jeffery Combs is always awesome in Trek regardless of who he's playing.

I hope for the return of Benjamin Sisko personally.

I think Avery Brooks wants to have nothing to do with Star Trek anymore.

That sucks, I loved Sisko despite Avery's constant over acting.

There's a possibility of the character of Sisko still being in the game / XPAC, just not being voiced by Avery. This would be possible as he wouldn't technically be in his human form perhaps - ending of DS9 (not explaining it fully in case someone who didn't watch the end of DS9, but I assume you get the picture).

To me hence, I'll be good if the character of Sisko would be in some shape or form within the XPAC as well.

Fingers crossed.

I believe though we will get more Worf, I don't think they can do it without him.

Anyone else wonder why they made Worf look so much older in game yet Martok looks like he hasn’t aged and in fact looks younger than he did on the show?
