Earn a free T6 Zen ship in Star Trek Online for the first time ever with a new TFO.

Keen forum users will already have seen this thread about the event, and with many users discussing it. Today is the day that it is live on PC, for console players, they will get the same chance mid-2019 to do this event for a free T6 ship. This is the first event within STO where you can earn a T6 Zen ship, previous T6 ships in events were specific ships related to the holiday. So this gives players a chance to get that T6 Miranda that they have had their heart set on!

The mission itself is described as "the first major Federation offensive of the Klingon-Federation War of 2256-57." where the Federation plan to counter-attack the Klingons to retake the planet of Priors World, and cause a major defeat to the Klingons. More details of the story will come out in the next major content patch, Rise of Discovery.

Described as a brand new system, this is the first time players can earn coupons towards a free ship, and it will be a running trend. As you only get 50 Coupon Progress Tokens per event/day, and you need 3000 in total, a daunting task, but they will have bonus days, which will double the amount you get. This system is no doubt a way to encourage, and reward players for taking part in featured TFO events.

Finally, completing the current TFO, Operation Riposte 14 times will reward you with the Console - Universal - Priors World Elite Defense Satellite, and as with all rewards like this, once you have unlocking it on one character, you can redeem it on others. The console sounds interesting, in that it allows you to call in a stationary defense platform from your ship. It also grants "a passive boost to Directed Energy Weapon Damage and Weapon Power Cost", which might prove useful to some.

So what are your thoughts on this new system? What free T6 Zen ship do you have your eyes on?
