Golden Orbit - UK Comic Fairs

Comic and film fairs organised by Golden Orbit stopped by Sheffield recently, and they move onto Leeds in 10 days.

On Saturday the 5th of October, I came across a small comic and film fair in my home of Sheffield, organised by Golden Orbit. There was largely DC and Marvel comics on offer, but a number of other comics, annuals, and items, all depending on what the dealers brought with them. It was not a large area, but all the dealers were friendly, and if you were looking for something in particular, they would tell you if they had it, or give you more information, but they were also very chatty on other subjects.

I personally bought a number of Star Trek comics from some of the dealers, although there wasn't too much Trek on offer this time round, the dealers do rotate their stock, I was also looking for Firefly, but there was none of that this time! Some of the people going were there to finish collections, I saw some with folders, with certain comics crossed out, assuming those already being in their collection now. So for collectors, this is probably a handy event.

There were also some high value comics, in very good condition from the looks, and some collectable toys. They have seven more dates left in the year across the UK, and they are as follows, if anyone wants to stop by one.

October 12th - Leeds - Park Plaza Hotel, Boar Lane, Leeds. LS1 5NS
November 2nd - Birmingham - The Walker Memorial Hall, Ampton Road, Egbaston, Birmingham B15 2UJ
November 9th - Sheffield - The Showroom, Paternoster Row, Sheaf Square, Sheffield S1 2BX (Opposite the main railway station)
November 10th - Liverpool - The Liner Hotel, Lord Nelson Street, off Lime Street L3 5QB
November 23rd - Manchester - Sachas Hotel, Tib Street, Piccadilly, Manchester M4 1SH
December 7th - Birmingham - The Walker Memorial Hall, Ampton Road, Egbaston, Birmingham B15 2UJ
December 8th - Leeds - Park Plaza Hotel, Boar Lane, Leeds. LS1 5NS

If you are in the UK, or around one of these areas, and you have an interest in comics, or want to have a look at what there is, it's probably worth a visit. You can find maps, and future dates, when they go up, over on the Golden Orbit website.
