It has been widly reported that Grant Imahara, TV host and engineer, passed away at the age of 49 on Monday, following a reported brain aneurysm. Tributes have been coming out from all those who knew him, or fans of his work, with many sharing on Twitter photos, and memories, as well as how he had inspired them, among them was Gavin Free, creator of the Slow Mo Guys, who had cited MythBusters as an inspiration.

Grant was known for many things, among them his work as an engineer for Lucasfilms, working on projects such as Star Wars Episode I, II and III, as well as The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. After nine years in this role, he became a member of the MythBusters team, then working on a Netflix original called White Rabbit Project, where he rejoined Tory Belleci and Kari Byron.

When it comes to Star Trek, Grant took on the role of Hikaru Sulu in the webseries Star Trek Continues and he also had a role in the film Star Trek: Renegades, where he played Lt. Masaru.

For me personally, I always enjoyed watching the work Grant put together on MythBusters, he was by far my favourite of the build team, there was something about him that made him a joy to watch. He will be deeply missed, and I hope you can all join me in sending our condolences to his family, friends, and all those who got to know him.
