Just over 24 hours ago, a fundraising page was set up on GoFundMe for the actor Michael Hogan, known for his role as Saul Tigh in Battlestar Galactica. This page was set up to help raise $150,000 CAD to help with Michaels recovery, following an injury suffered in February this year, the following is a quote taken from the page to better explain the situation.

"On Feb. 17, 2020, everything changed drastically in our world. Michael was in Vancouver participating in a Battlestar Galactica convention, and at dinner following his day’s work, he fell and hit his head. Hard. He went to bed that night not realizing that the impact had caused a massive brain bleed. He was unable to be woken the next morning and was taken to Vancouver General Hospital and emergency surgery performed. It took 57 staples to close the part of his skull they had to remove in order to reach the damage."

The fundraiser for the veteran actor has passed its goal, and at the time of writing, has $160,847 CAD contributed towards it. The news of this has been picked up by many outlets, and a range of big names on Twitter, with fellow actors like Amanda Tapping raising awareness, as well as giving money. There have been big donations, and little donations, but all to help an actor who has given joy to so many and has been a role model to others.

If you wish to view the fund for more details or to contribute, you can click here to be taken to the page. Please also join the FNS team in wishing Michael Hogan well, and best wishes to his family and friends.

Update: The target has now been changed to $300,000 CAD, this will be in relation to the amount of people contributing, as there is no fixed goal to helping with something like this. An update has been posted on the funding page as well. Here is just a little bit from the page update, by Shari Ulrich "I am printing out your heartfelt messages for her to share with Michael when she visits him on Thursday, which will also be when he first learns of this initiative.".

Thanks for this article, Three!
Oh my... that's sad news. I really loved him as Col. Tigh in BSG and I hope and pray he will recover quickly.
