Obligatory spoiler warning for those who are not fully caught up on the latest offerings of the third season of Star Trek Picard - This article will contain spoilers for the first 3 episodes of the season.

Since the launch of the first season of Star Trek Picard, its been plagued with bad storytelling and over the top fan service (I can appreciate good fan service, but it felt a little too much in the early seasons). Season 2 was better overall in terms of the story and tying up the storylines of some our beloved characters such as the irrepressible Q.
I'll admit the ending where Jean-Luc hugged Q for the final time brought a tear to this writers eye. I really enjoyed seeing De Lancie step back into role of the omnipitent being.

Season 3 of Picard has been a massive hit for both myself and other fans who were hoping for one last bombastic adventure by the intrepid Next Generation crew and so far Season 3 has been delivering on all fronts! With the big revelation that Beverly had a son with Jean-Luc whom he didn't know about feels like it might be setting things up for a new "Next Next Generation" following Jack in some form.
It is nice to know however that the Picard dynasty isn't going to end with Jean-Luc.

The overall plot seems interesting so far but the deeper look into the characters themselves and how they are struggling with their past, especially Riker still struggling over the loss of his son Thaddeus and how that has affected him and subsequently how that has affected his relationship with Deanna has made me connect with Riker on a new level as we see how broken he truly is.

There have been a few moments that have had me on the edge of my seat. Particularly at the end of the third episode "Seventeen Seconds" where Riker booted Picard off the bridge saying "Remove yourself from the bridge, you've just killed us all." sent chills down my back as we've never seen Jean-Luc and Will come to such heavy blows before.

The dynamic between Raffi and Worf feels like a perfect match and so far Michael Dorn has been knocking it out of the park, although this new pacist attitude of Worf feels a little bit out of left field but did leave me giggling on a few occasions. Its been great to see the old crew coming together one last time to overcome as beverly put it: "A Jean-Luc Picard level threat".

I'm excited to see how the other characters are going to play into the story, especially as we're yet to see Geordi and Brent Spiner reprising his role as Lore. During one of the trailers there was a moment where you could hear Geordi screaming "GOD DAMMIT LORE!", I imagine he's probably going to be one of the seasons bad guys (I mean its Lore, he couldn't be anything else right?).

The latest episode "No Win Scenario" had a lot of interesting moments as the reality of their situation began to sink in especially the insight we got into Captain Shaw and his hostility and resentment towards Seven and Picard being former borg drones. I had a feeling that it was going to be connected in some way to Wolf 359. The emotion that Todd Stashwick (Liam Shaw) brought during that outburst in the holodeck was nothing short of thrilling.

Season 3 has brought the changelings back into the role of the bad guy again is an excellent move in my opinion as they represented a grave threat to the Alpha Quadrant. The fact that they are involved once again in some kind of plot to potentially destroy the Federation makes me excited to see what comes next!

What do you think of Picard Season 3 so far? Are you enjoying it? Let us know below!

Picard as a series has been a mostly positive experience for me. I felt the 1st season was the weakest - as if they were finding their feet, but last season with Q (who could not possibly love any opportunity to see John De Lancie opposite Sir Patrick again) was so strong I was worried about how they would round things off in this the final instalment. I need not have worried, however, this season is by far the most "Star Trek" of any of the others. The acting is of the highest calibre, even the new introductions and less impactful characters like Titan bridge officers are really bringing their A-game. The script is good, the story is compelling and Amanda Plummer as the villain - was in my opinion nothing short of a masterstroke of clever casting. All these things together have made this series the best of the three to my mind.

Ten forward seems to have become the go to place for amazingly powerful dialogue between characters. Between Liam Shaw's version of the USS Indianapolis speech from Jaws and the emotionally charged conversation between Picard and Ro, it's been like watching masterclasses of acting.

I see all over Twitter there's calls for a USS Titan series and I, for one, think that isn't the worst idea ever. Captain Shaw, who really grated on me during the first episode is now one of my favorite characters and I'd love to see more of the ship and crew.

Saw this on Twitter yesterday:

I might be reading too much into it, but it sounds like that some of the powers that be might be thinking along the same lines or they're at least open to the idea of it.

Well, we'll spoiler this one as it's by no means a guarantee, but
someone who has seen all 10 episodes as part of the previews; they didn't touch on the final one but did say that as of episode 9, no-one was dead.

I'm totally loving the design of the Intrepid as well. I like that they haven't reverted back to the old TMP era saucer section and have given Intrepid a more First Contact, sharp edged saucer. That scene when you realise that they made Intrepid angry and it starts to rear up towards them was brilliantly shot and showed just how menacing and beautiful the ship was.

Enjoyed this season far more than the last, which to be honest I didnt get past the first episode in watching. This season I have actually been counting the days till the next episode, which considering I am very selective these days, is a major plus for me.

I really liked season 3. It was done well and was nice send off for the TNG crew. I'm still struggling with the fact that at the end of season 2 the federation made a pact with the "good' borg?? however they show up as the main antagonist in season 3. Other than that it was nice to see some "real" trek for a change.

That was Jurati's mini collective, which in theory is still active. But to be honest season 1 and 2 sucked so much it's just better to forget about it anyways.
The Borg will always be the antagonist, as they should. But now I think the real Borg are dead and Jurati's collective will just be forgotten as bad trek.
