    The 6th Starfleet/Klingon Banquet



    Starbase 24 invite you to join us at the 6th Annual Starfleet/Klingon Banquet, to be held at the Holiday Inn, Peterborough on 19th and 20th October 2012.

    The event is held for the benefit of Macmillan Cancer support. A charity that help victims and familiars of cancer within there homes and hospital's. Quote from there website "We provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. We are Macmillan Cancer Support." This is the 6th Banquet and so far we have raised £8684.64 and we hope to brake the £10.000 threshold.

    The Event is held in honor of a Starbase 24 member who sadly passed away due to Cancer he never got to attend the very first Banquet.

    This Event is to be held at the Holiday Inn, Peterborough on 19th and 20th October 2012.
    The Event is held over 2 nights on Friday and Saturday.

    There is a ticket price: for both night's it will cost £53 (Meal Included)
    or just Saturday £35 (Meal Included).
    All proceeds generated will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

    Friday night: Disco and a buffet on offer maybe a quiz
    Saturday night: A 3 course Meal (menu will be posted once signed off), Disco, auction and raffle

    Here is a bit more information about Starbase 24

    Starbase 24 is a completely not for profit organization. We don’t charge for membership, and all profits raised by our activities go to Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity we are very proud to be affiliated with.
    We are an independent group of Star Trek fans (a Star Trek club if you like, although we're not that formal). Our message board is a friendly place for Star Trek related chat, but we also meet up at events, including those that we run ourselves. We have worked with Leicester Space Center on Star Trek themed weekends but our flagship event is the Starfleet/Klingon Banquet that since 2005, has raised over £8500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

    I got extremely excited when I saw this because I'm going to be in England visiting family for a few weeks this month.
    Then I looked at the date for the event. Sad
    I'll still attempt to be there - you never know when you may acquire the money to travel!

    Keep bumping the thread nearer the time, im interested for the Saturday (work would interrupt the Friday), i can drive down, only about 40mins away in Sleaford. If anybody else is in the area, perhaps a car share?
