Hello,

First of all thank you to all those who attended the prequel - I am happy to say that everyone had fun! Now for the official RP stuff

The USS Challenger, along with the Melbourne, Columbus and Phoenix entered the Hydra sector, escorting 2 construction vessels - tasked with setting up Starbase 124, in the Serris system. The journey through the sector was supposed to be a very simple convoy escort mission, but this turned out to be the complete opposite....

The taskforce ran into Gul Gadar, fairly early on, who was in charge of the Cardassian 11th Order - which was sent to represent the Cardassian interests within the sector - within the first engagement the Phoenix and both construction ships took minor damage. However, this early damage created further problems down the line, warp travel became more difficult with the warp drives on both construction ships affected it wasn't long before the 11th Order returned...

In the second engagement one of the construction ships was lost, along with the Melbourne - which was forced to retreat out of the sector, to rendezvous with the rest of Task Force Omega to begin repairs - but a number of Cardassian ships were destroyed. The chase continued, with an increasing number of encounters along the convoy's route.

After a long, and dangerous journey, the remainder of the convoy arrived in the Serris system, specifically in orbit of Serris 1, and began construction of Starbase 124, but once again a taskforce from the 11th Order this time without conflict.

Admiral Moorey and Gul Gadar engaged in negotiations about the regions current owners, which ultimately ended with a relatively neutral resolution. The 11th Order retreated from the Serris system, to avoid further confrontations with Starfleet, but will they stay peaceful, or will they try and stop Starfleet's efforts?

Could everyone who attended - if they would like - post a kind of "Captains logs", which doesn't have to be long, to get more involved in the role-play and provide a more detailed account from multiple perspectives.

Star Trek: Hydra will continue, and officially start next week! See you all there!

Admirals Log, supplemental:

We made it to Serris 1, by the skin of our teeth, but we made it. Although, the Cardassians have broken off pursuit, I can't help but think that we will be seeing Gul Gadar once more, although next time I doubt we will be so fortunate.

Long range sensors aren't picking up any more contacts from the Cardassians, but all ships are staying on high alert. Our first supply convoy arrived yesterday without incident, adding additional materials and personnel to the construction efforts on Starbase 124, whilst also adding the Farragut, Charleston and Repulse to the patrol detail.

As the Challenger isn't going anywhere any time soon, I am going to use this time to relax whilst getting my medical officer off my back.

Captains Log:

Word of our new assignment and of the events surrounding the Federations first foray into the Hydra Sector certainly has the crew on edge. Regardless, I have full confidence in my crews ability to cope under pressure and many of them have proven themselves in combat throughout the duration of the Dominion War.

The Farragut is now en route to the Serris 1 system where we have orders to rendezvous with Task Force Omega, which is under the command of Admiral Moorey of the U.S.S. Challenger, to support and defend ongoing Federation interests in the Sector. Cardassian aggression in the area will certainly complicate matters and no doubt hinder progress on the construction of Starbase 124, but with the increased Federation presence the Cardassians may think twice before openly engaging any Starfleet vessels in the sector.

At our current speed and course the Farragut should reach Serris 1, in 6 days. I have a full complement of 750 aboard and have had the crew running combat readiness tests in anticipation of further hostilities.

I just hope that the situation doesn't spiral out of control.
