A relatively difficult interview to take part in, considering I'm not part of the academy and thus have to find out through Academy members vaguely what is happening so that I can ensure that the right questions are being asked. I couldn't have previously imagined all of the exam replacements and the expansions et cetera, so unfortunately I feel that I had to rely on Chris to inform than me to try and leak the information out of him through a series of questions and pleasantries which interviews are all about.

I'm happy that I asked a few questions which I feel have quite an aggressive tone, especially one relating to the Academy bot. Which I have attempted to destroy several times with ferocious rhetoric in the private forum of the Recruitment Team. I think through questions like that they aren't ideal for informing as per say, but they produce a conflict between the interviewer and interviewee which produces two stances which I think makes it a more interesting or at least a entertaining read. Chances are I was probably watching Newsnight with Jeremy Paxman when I wrote that question.

I think all of the kudos of this interview has to go to Mr Halsey who as usual was outstanding. A great honour to be asked to Interview him considering in many aspects he has been my direct boss and one of the few people I have actually debated with on the little things within UFP which frustrate me. Which in the end has provided me with a far more enlightened if not changed opinion altogether which is certainly something noteworthy to say because i'm a stubborn so and so.

I've always felt good interview questions should have a mix of tones, and should range from the kind of questions they would answer on press releases, to the kind that makes them stop and think themselves.

There are a couple of aggressive questions in there, which is totally fine and to be expected, as respect was always present throughout the interview. Personally, I've always found this to be the key difference between a good interviewer and someone who is there to make an 'ass out of themselves', and unfortunately the mainstay of news reporting is done by the latter in an effort to drum up interest in a rather asinine display of shameless ribaldry.

Mister Halsey does love to speak (Meant in a totally jesting poke Chris ), and the interview was not only well structured, but gave him an obvious soapbox to pontificate about the Academy and his plans for that division. To me this means the interview was win/win: Some good tough questions that were handled well by the interviewee and resulted in something that I believe is informative to all parties, including the interviewer.
