Hello,

First of all thank you to all those who attended the fourth episode, I am very glad that everyone who attended enjoyed themselves and I look forward to seeing how everyone reacts to how the story will develop over the next couple of episodes Now the mission synopsis:

The taskforce tried their best to hold in Beol, and Serris, but due to the massive numbers of enemy ships we were forced all the way back to the Celbalrai system. What seemed like endless waves of ships, seemed to be only the tip of the iceberg...

After the 8th Fleet found the interstellar gateway, they encountered a huge fleet - which outnumbered the entire 8th fleet 6 to 1 - and there was a steady stream of vessels coming through the gateway. With their current numbers, we estimate that they will have the power to push into the heart of the Federation within a week and a half, by which point their numbers will be so high that it will be almost impossible to hold off their next attack.

Admiral Ross has decided to divert the 6th and 9th Fleets, from Earth and Vulcan, to the Hydra sector whilst this will boost our numbers, we will still be outnumbered 2 to 1. However, these odds are significantly better than 6 to 1, once the fleets arrive in just under a weeks time - we will begin our full offensive towards the interstellar gateway.

Admiral Moorey, and Admiral Ross are currently devising a plan to disable, or even destroy the interstellar gateway, now that we have also managed to decipher more data from the Zephan database, about the gateway, we have managed to identify a weakness in its design.

The gateway itself, is nothing more than an instantaneous transporter, with very little defenses it relies solely on the fleet defending it - which presents us with an opportunity. Due to the power source, being a power core utilising a stable Omega particle it is very vulnerable to attack, so long as the fleet surrounding it is unable to protect and we can break through their shields.

One main issue that we are currently facing, is the Cardassian base in the Xi Entrades system - any attack on the gateway will mean the base can be used to flank our assault, so this must be destroyed before any offensive can be successful. The first stage of any offensive, will be to take out that base, then we can worry about the gateway.

Whilst we are outnumbered, and outgunned this is a situation where we cannot fail...as soon as the plan is fully devised we will let every captain know. No matter what, we must succeed in this attack, we cannot risk fighting a war on multiple fronts - the Klingons and the Romulans are currently at each others throats, and diplomatic relations between ourselves and the Klingons have diminished due to our opposition to their war with the Romulans.

Lets hope that the Zephans don't increase the rate, at which their ships come through the gateway, as the longer we wait the more casualties their will be... More information will follow, about the offensive and any other information deciphered from the Zephan database.

Prepare your ship and crew captains, as this will be a fight we must win, no matter the cost...

Could everyone who attended - if they would like - post a kind of "Captains logs", which doesn't have to be long, to get more involved in the role-play and provide a more detailed account from multiple perspectives.

I would also like to ask, that those who weren't able to attend, write up a captains log as well, to keep involved with the story
