    Hello,

First of all thank you to all those who attended the sixth episode, I am very glad that everyone who attended enjoyed themselves and I look forward to seeing how everyone reacts to how the story will develop over the next couple of episodes Big Grin Now the mission synopsis:

The assault has now begun - we began our attack into the Poseidon system - whilst the 9th Fleet did take heavy losses, we managed to secure the system from the Zephans and are only just holding off their efforts to attack the system.

The 6th and 8th Fleets had success as well, in the Omega Draconis system a long fight was waged from around 2 hours, in and around all the planets within the system - ultimately leading to the seucring of the space around the Omega Draconis planets. Now that the area has been secured ground forces will be sent down to Omega Draconis 2 and 4, to secure the enemy outposts on the planet - these will have to be secured before we can push to Albirea.

During the attack in the Poseidon system, the crews of the Charleston and Melbourne discovered an unusual mineral on Poseidon 2 - a mineral which was being extensively mined on the planet, after security teams from the Monarch and Melbourne secured the area, it was very evident that there were still large deposits of the mineral still left on the planet. This seems to be the reason why the Zephans want this system so badly, the mineral has proven - when mixed with a hull alloy - to become very heat resistant, specifically to our phasers...this would be a massive problem if they managed to make their hulls impervious to our phasers.

Along with the massive amounts of dilithium and other minerals in the Hydra sector, this could be the most valuable mineral in the sector - especially if it can be used to modify our hulls, we must prevent the Zephans from extracting any more of this mineral. Science teams from the Galaxy, and Melbourne are studying the alloy for further applications, as well as trying to find a way to reduce the effect on our phasers, sadly no luck so far.

After the battle for Poseidon, the task force tried to assault the Outpost in the Xi Entrades star system, however, we didn't have nearly enough ships to take it on - and we can't spare any of the 6th, 8th or 9th fleet ships, as every one of them is being used to halt the Zephan advance.

Therefore, we must get General Kar'ak on our side - if we can't, then we will have to attack the gateway, even with our flanks exposed, we would have no choice...

Could everyone who attended - if they would like - post a kind of "Captains logs", which doesn't have to be long, to get more involved in the role-play and provide a more detailed account from multiple perspectives.

I would also like to ask, that those who weren't able to attend, write up a captains log as well, to keep involved with the story Smile

My thanks to Ben Hurley, Chris Halsey, Chugster, Dentari, Jonathan F-G, Minnow and Sammygm for attending.

Star Trek: Hydra will continue in one weeks time! See you all there!
