Welcome to Star Trek: Renown, sequel to the successful Bridge Commander Role-play – Star Trek: Hydra – is here! Within this next role-play, we will be playing as the Klingon Empire!

The events of this role-play follow on from the events, laid out within the Hydra time period, please read through the story before signing up:

It has been almost 8 months since the threat of the Zephan Sovereignty was thwarted by Task Force Omega, and the House of Metak. The relationship between the Federation and the Klingon Empire has deteriorated even more, with both sides on the brink of all out war.

The war between the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Star Empire has slowed, only border skirmishes take place now – but it does seem like the war will last a very long time. Neither side has an advantage over the other, now with the Federation now in full control of the Hydra sector, they have a large surplus of minerals and resources to re-build their fleet – with the new mineral Zelon, the Federation has managed to create a new hull alloy.

This new alloy, provides the Federation with a great advantage, as this new alloy has extremely resistant to most energy weapon types and thus increase the strength of the Federation fleet as well as their ability to stand up to ships. To that end, scientists within the House of Metak are trying to replicate this alloy, or at least the mineral – mainly gathered from wreckage of the Interstellar Gateway, that was destroyed within the Hydra sector.

Before General Ka’rak’s fleet retreated from the Hydra sector, they managed to recover some fragments of the Interstellar Gateway’s hull armour, as well as wreckage from Zephan ships, destroyed during the assault – in an attempt to improve the Klingon Fleet, or more specifically the House of Metak forces.

Whilst the Klingon Empire is relatively stable, and are at war with the Romulans, there is still inside fighting between different houses, one of which is Metak’s biggest rival – Torok. Both Metak and Torok are members of the Klingon High Council, and have been rivals for a very long time, this is fueled by their desire to become Chancellor of the Klingon Empire.

In the more recent events within the Klingon Empire, the House of Metak and Torok have been having a power struggle – both wanting a majority control of the Klingon Fleet, and thus have been fighting one another for quite some time, along with the Romulan-Klingon War.

Now, the in fighting has reached a new stage – the House of Torok is managing to keep their supply lines open, and fully functional, which has the House of Metak confused and surprised, and thus this gives them a massive advantage.

The fighting between these two houses has reached a point within the High Council, where councillors have split allegiances, and are beginning to take sides – this is most likely going to lead to a full Klingon Civil War, something which they can’t afford at this point.

Metak has been asked to meet Torok, in a remote section of the Gamma Eridon system, presumably to talk about ending the war between the Houses, for the good of the Empire – but Metak is more cautious about this meeting…

If you would like to sign-up to this role-play, then please place the ship class, of your choosing, along with a ship name (if possible) – and if possible the name of your character, and what House you would pledge your allegiance to, for example:

If there is a strong imbalance I may have to ask people to change their ship class.

If everyone goes with a single house, or there is a majority then I will have to balance the teams, as for this role-play it will be easier if all players are split down the middle.

BEFORE SIGNING UP READ THIS: Please DO NOT sign-up if you are not willing to attend on a weekly basis, if you sign-up but don’t attend two events in a row, I will have to kick you from the role-play. Please state with your sign-up post, what times/days are best for you as I would like to make this event at a time which suites the most people.
