Cautiously optimistic for the new Thunderbirds, though more looking forward to one of my classmates version that he is doing for is graded unit.

As for my work, here is my first organic character animation. It not as good as I wanted it to be, but skinning the mesh to the bones proved more tricky than I thought and slowed me down at bit.

Now back to work, I got an Environment project to do and my Graded Unit, was going to make that Star Fox related...but modeling and rigging multiple anthropomorphic animals...not in this time frame, maybe over the summer.
My actual plan should be something special though, but you guys will need to wait about 2+ months to see it

That's awesome. I used to do stuff like that for secondlife, do you use QAvimator or something like that for the human movement models? Or is it all individually done? Skinning mesh I know is rough, but it's a lot better than the old methods right? I'm a big fan of mesh.

Everything for the character done in Autodesk 3ds Max, including building its custom Rig.

I don't know if it better than any old methods, as it is my first organic character. But I imagine the tools have gotten better, making it easier.

before mesh you basically had smaller interlocking hard parts, like a robot, and the pieces had to be altered to make the movement look natural one frame at a time, which was painstaking, which is why mesh is the reason that computer animation with people/animals anything organic looks so much better now but space ships and that kind of thing has always looked better than people, in TV and movies and such the changes to mesh are the reason computer animation has become almost indistiguishable, especially when you have stuff like dragons that you don't have features like a human face that the brain accepts as real easier.

Anyway that's cool what you've done, it's got a real natural feel to it. This is what I used to use, you can see how the parts would have to be altered after the animation was finished.
