As announced earlier this month, with the recent departure of the Head of Starfleet, Jake Tyler, we have had quite a work area to cover as quickly as possible. Upon consultation with Starfleet Command, I and Christopher Halsey have been re-evaluating the needs of the person serving in the position as well as the needs of those who serve the Head of Starfleet.
In and amongst this consultation period, Mikester92 has decided to return from his temporary leave from the UFP and as such, we felt it would be best to place Mikester back in the role of Secretary of Defence for the foreseeable future, based on his own capabilities, and the feedback provided to us.
I therefore would like to congratulate Mikester and wish him all the best as he takes over the reins from Jake Tyler who fulfilled the role admirably. Mikester has already served in the role for 2012 to 2014, so I’m sure he will settle in quickly to ultimately support the gaming division leaders of the community. Developing the Starfleet branch of the community is vital to our success and vision from 2020 and beyond, so I have no doubt that with the help of Mikester and the CO/XO team, we’ll continue to head in that direction.
On a separate note, some will note that it was previously stated we would be recruiting for the role, since that was our intention at the time. As stated though circumstances have changed, but opportunities will be arising in the short to medium term in which I’m sure will more than make up for the change in situation.
