Today, it’s my pleasure to announce a project that’s been in the works for a few months now, with support and feedback from many of you, we are pleased to bring back Star Trek text roleplay in a new format that will involve everyone. We’re calling this the UFPlanets.com Ares Roleplay Project. Our new initiative provides the opportunity for everyone to give input on the direction each roleplay takes, making the experience much more unique than previously. With everyone given equal ground to put forward their stories, individuality will flourish and mature. This will expand our ever growing support of activities for Star Trek fans and those who might just enjoy a spot of creative writing.
In what was previously known as the UFP Simm, we’ve taken what works and what perhaps didn’t, to deliver something much more exciting under Ares Roleplay. We’ll be running two stories at any one time (in what we’ll be calling Star Trek Roleplays (STRPs for short) and they’ll be any number of possibilities for sequel or spin offs. Fundamentally we’re going to aim that the two STRPs (at least initially) will be intertwined in some ways, with potential for small crossover events.
For the time being as the new division develops, myself and LynxMukka will be at the helm, however once things settle and members start getting engaged with what we’ve got planned, we’ll be wanting a Commanding Officer to step up. Therefore getting involved early will be a fantastic way to show off your skills or even develop them. Each story will have canon elements from the Star Trek universe and carry over the lore, giving you the chance to act out a role of your own choosing in a story which catches your eye.
In the coming days you’ll see a new forum on the index page where more information will be posted and you can get as excited as we are that we’re delivering something we know the community has a desire for. Stay alert for more information!
