    The return of the Mirror Invasion event with new mechanics and a new starbase seems like a great jumping-off point for exciting adventures defending the Romulan Republic! Would there be any interest in organizing a meetup for five stalwart captains to run it in character?

    There aren't any new mechanics in the Mirror event, just different unique rewards each time. I was expecting some kind of reward weapon or device instead of a ship card but regardless, extra dilithium is always good.

    Oh ok, they must have added the station mechanics and portal closing last year after I quit. Last time I ran the instance, it was just an old fashioned turkey shoot.

    Can someone explain to me how to properly run the first phase of the mirror invasion, specifically how to contribute my part? I'm running both cruisers and science vessels.

    With a cruisers you activate the stations faster than an escort or sci ship, as a science ship you close the rifts faster than an escort or a cruiser.

    The mechanic that isn't immediately obvious is that the rifts expand and produce stronger ships the older they get. Small green rifts are the freshest. Prioritize closing older rifts before the station is swamped by terran command cruisers!

    Quickly activating the stations to get defenses to level 5 helps. The problems I've encountered in previous years of the mirror event on higher difficulties is that the players are too focused on shooting ships and they fail to activate station defense and close rifts.
