What Boff race makes the best engineers for ground combat? I'm thinking maybe doing all Humans, Vulcans or Betazed team for ground combat. And which traits should i be looking for?

Its a shame there's no way to customize (at a cost) the traits of our BOFFs.

But as for engineer, having any race with Superior Creative would be a plus.

Tellarite is also a good choice I guess, Pigheaded works well for engineers who will be getting shot setting up turrets and generators, increasing their chance to get critically hit and becoming enraged (dealing more damage)

what about Vulcans?

Vulcans only have two set traits, Logical and Physical Strength. First one is a defence buff against Psionic debuffs and confuses/placates, the second is an attack buff for melee attacks, something an engineer buff isn't going to be doing much of. You might get lucky with the other two traits though.

You want ones with traits that buff damage output in general if you're going for offense.

I got an Aenar Boff Eng that works well for me, since it creates a 'second' Aenar target dummy that fires back, giving a bit of added ground firepower. Works decently on Kobali, working for Iconian leet probes.

My main is a Engineer and I play on Elite Difficulty. All my Away Team are Engineers VR with all ground Traits. Superior Creative or Creative is must since they improve kit performance. I also like Empathetic Team Heath Regen +.05. and Superior Luck +4.5 Critical Chance, +15% increase change to Expose.
This is my current Away Team.
Betazoid = Superior Creative, Empathetic, Superior Mental Disipline, Telepathic.
2x Bajoran = Creative, Spiritual, Superior Covert, Superior Luck.
Vulcan = Logical, Physical Strength, Superior Acute Senses, Superior Creative

Now what really makes my team powerful is the gear and skills. All my Away Team now have MK III UR Rep Gear. You can also get the Na'kuhl Temporal Operative Armor MK XII 3 piece set from the mission The Temporal Front in the Future Proof story line.

The skills: All my Away Team have Ensign Shield Recharge 1 and Commander Turret Fabrication III. I have a VR Doff Armory Officer that gives a 20% change to beam in 2 level 61 Turrets. This does apply to my Away Team. Usually at least one crit's at least one Boff but I have seen it crit on more then one Boff at a time. Sea of Turrets.

Now the LT and LT Commander slots will have "Command" skill. This combo makes my team able to defeat the most difficult ground missions on Elite with ease.

I like the First and Third Boff to have "Strategic Analysis" buffs the Damage Resistance and outgoing Damage of the user and allies over it's run-time. It support up to 5 allies which includes your toys like Turret which why I like to have 2 so I can get cover to. Then some kind of combination of expose and exploit.

what about 4 krenim engineers?
I'm thinking about an away team of Krenim Engineers specializing in command. what traits should I look for?

I give my entire away team the upgraded Omega set (Mk 14 UR).

The 3 piece set bonus stacks for the team:

Passive
Affects Friend and Self
+15.1 Dodge to self and allies
+2.5% Critical Chance
+2.5% Critical Severity

So I end up with a +60.4 dodge, 10% CrtH and a 10% CrtD on myself and every team member. Combine that with them all having Antiproton Auto Carbines and the Damage, CrtH and CrtD that each member gets wearing the armor individually.

I then wear the Iconian Armor set for the active Buff.

I also have an android healer because they can self revive.

Sadly, your link doesn't seem to work for me. I think maybe the forum truncated it based on the "....." in the middle of the link. Can you re-post it ? I would really love to see your set up. I currently use the set up I found in STO forums titled "Ultimate Boff" or something like that, it a much better than what I was using but yours sounds like it's even better still.
