    I do love his speeches! Perfect to say the least - so glad that Patrick Stewart took the role, would have been completely different without him.

    Yes I agree... Well I admit and really enjoyed the Star Trek Movies... What I admire most today was influenced by Picard's character. Picard was a completely different Captain than James T. Kirk... TNG really created a model for humanity to aspire to.

    I am a big fan of Picard but I would not say so to non-startrek fans. I am shy. However I am thankful I have a devoted someone to share my "Earl Grey" tea with. Thumbs upCool *giggles*

    gotta agree, Drumhead speech was quite elegant and very well done. Picard on the whole is by far my favourite captain, followed by Janeway, Sisko, then Decker, Kirk and Archer.

    I didn't appreciate Sisko until after I became an adult. I ended up going back and watching the whole series. I get him, now.

    I'm currently half way through Series 1 of DS9 (I've watched it all before, but not since it aired) and Sisko is great. The chief difference between them seems to be that, where Picard would spend an hour considering and consulting with his staff before choosing a course of action, Sisko will have decided, done it and already be sitting down with a nice meal he prepared. Of course, his decisions can be a little more morally questionable and he's far more willing to turn a blind eye to rule breaking if he thinks there was a good reason for it.

    Picard is definitely my favourite, though! And his many wonderful speeches, particularly the one from the Drumhead, are absolutely incredible and are, far too often, even more relevant today than they were at the time.

    Notice how Picard recommends Crusher but Sisko recommends Nog? hahaha but it really shows that Sisko roots for the underdog.
