Changes within the UFP

Greetings,

Firstly, I would like to say thank you to our two FEO members who have stepped aside, the visions of my predecessor Dentari, I hope to put into motion and get some of his ideas implemented, I would like to thank him for all his time in FEO and his guidance during my time starting in CL6 to this position, for everything he has given to the UFP, he has been awarded the Admiral rank. Christopher Halsey has also stepped down and chosen to take on the rare rank of Veteran Member, I respect his choice, but I believe he will be missed in FEO, his ideas, while we didn't always agree on them, were often sound and he backed all his statements up with reason, I for one still hope to see Chris around these forums! Well, I hope to see both of these fine members around!

As those who were in the community meeting will know, I have been appointed President of the UFP, this means I will be shaping the UFP in my direction, it shall be an efficiently run community! Resistance is futile! But, my main focus will be on the social aspect of our community, boosting forum participation and getting everyone to engage. You will be seeing a few changes coming in the near future, but not spoilers!

One of the changes that you will see and will have heard about if you were at the meeting, is Game Tokens, this is a system that will start next year, you will get tokens for participating in tournaments or contests and getting a ranked place, in most cases. At the end of the year, the top three members on the Game Token leaderboard will be awarded a prize, this could be an Amazon voucher or something more Star Trek, you will probably get a choice!

Again, thank you to Dentari and Chris for their time and commitment to the UFP over the years and hope to still see you around these parts, perhaps coming back in some form as well.

I'm far too new to recognize any of the politics involved in this, so I'll simply say congrats to Three of Seven. All the best leaders with whom I've worked have practiced constructive discontent - never satisfied with the status quo, and always looking to innovate. It seems Three is already leaning that direction, so I'd say good things are to come.

And of course, I welcome my new overlord with open arms
