Yeah, just run through the tutorial and all the missions the system gives you. EVE is known for a very steep learning curve (read: cliff-like). I mean, I've been playing on and off for about 6-7 years....and I still don't know everything.

Before I went to bed last night, I wrapped up the mission chain that was given to my by the, um I think they're called Agents(?), Cash Flow for Capsulees I want to say it's called.

In the process of doing this, I ended up with two frigates, an Atron and a Tristan. I also got what I think was a mining ship that I haven't yet looked at too closely.

What is passing for a plan in my mind is to get at least one of those frigates up to spec ASAP (probably the Atron, as I'm already in that), then make sure the miner is good to go.

The fellow who offered me that initial Cash Flow mission chain doesn't seem to have anything else right now. I'm guessing at this point one usually just picks another Agent, does their missions, and just works through them all in that manner, yes?

Basically, you should be looking for the storyline missions. Not having done the tutorials in a while, (13 years) I'm not sure where you go next.

Since the Tristan is a drone boat, you should focus on training drone skills to effectively fly it. The Tristan can field a full flight of 5 light drones. Train Drones V in order to field all 5 drones. For support skills, train Light Drone Operation V and Drone Interfacing IV to increase the damage of your drones, Drone Avionics V increase your drone control range, and Drone Durability IV increases drone hitpoints. A Racial Drone Specialisation such as Gallente Drone Specialization III is highly recommended - III is a very short train. At the moment, any drone will do, but Caldari will be best due their decent damage, as well as durability, maneuver and MWD-approach speed, and strong shield tank.

How big a deal is it to get all the skills listed above? Is that collection of skills even advisable? I think that was my reasoning in sticking to the Atron at lest short-term, that I don't yet have the skills to adequately use a set of drones.

EDIT: I started training up some of those skills last night. I'll hit Drones 4 early Monday morning, then see what else needs to get done before I commit a week's time to Drones 5.

I remember when I started a few years ago. My first reaction was........wait, you don't get to actually fly the ship, you just double click around and hit orbit? That's stupid!! Uninstall! lol

I tried it again some time after that, and spent much more time getting into it, and kinda figured out that the system worked well considering you have plenty of other things you're doing.
