Possible Site Outage

It is becoming ever more apparent that we will likely exceed our bandwidth limit for this month. We have taken steps to prevent going over the limit; such as, reducing the size of the background, and halting signature updates. This post is a simple heads up that in the next few days the website may go down.

In the event the site does go down, it will only be temporary and will return on the first of September. We apologise for any inconvenience if this occurs.

But seriously... this demonstrates our need for a future upgrade quite evidently. I'll be monitoring server bandwidth use more closely next month in an attempt to ascertain where our bandwidth hotspots are and what measures can be taken before our upgrade in November.
This is just a warning as it would appear that we will run over our bandwidth limit on the last or penultimate day of this month. So I don't expect our downtime to be more than a day or two.
Upon reading this, if you could spread the word to others you talk to, so that we don't get inundated with emails and PMs asking what's going no, that'd be much appreciated

For the record, should the site go down due to bandwidth exceeding, it will return at midnight UK time on September 1st. Which will in fact be on August 31st for many of you in the US.

I've decided to redirect signatures for the remainder of the month, so apologies if your signature isn't showing or is showing a red X (shame on you for still having IE).
With these measures and more we may be able to stay online till the end of the month.

The site will be imminently going offline, we apologise for the inconvenience. Our efforts were not enough, but we will be back online on the first of September at midnight in the UK!

As Sharp said, the site will go down at any time now, but will be back up shortly, where we will be resuming normal operations for the time being.

Our host has kindly upped our bandwidth a few gigs, which might enable us to remain online for the next couple of days. If not, we don't estimate the downtime to be more than a few hours now.
Some of you may have seen the site go down intermittently, fortunately I was able to convince our host to give us a bit of leeway in light of our circumstances.

Yeah... a few hours ago I encountered the bandwidth error message and I thought that the {UFP} just got the new forum up and it's striking already?? TBH I don't know nothing about programming and stuff like that.. and is this bandwidth thing gonna be a future problem as well, or is this just temporary?

We are going to be taking steps to conserve bandwidth over the next few months. By the end of November, bandwidth will no longer be a concern, as we will be upgrading to a semi-dedicated server.
