    Hey everyone,
So I have played off and on for quite a few years though never really got into EVE. I wish to change that now. I want to know suggestions or places i can go in order to get a good understanding of how to be successful in EVE while staying alive.

    So what do you got?

How long ya got? Tongue Out

EVE is a total immersion MMO that you can learn to play in hours, and never learn to master it. It genuinely depends on exactly what it is you want to do in EVE. Fight? Explore? Mine? Manufacture? Research? Transport? There's something for everyone!

Best piece of advice I can give is to create an Alpha Clone account (that's the free one) and play the tutorial, so you can understand the basics of gameplay. Once you've done that, and done a few of the starter missions, you'll have a feel for what you want to do with the game. At that point, I would strongly recommend watching some YouTube videos on the career path you want to follow.

You can always hit one of the more experienced EVE players up if you want more specifics. I'm a bit of a generalist, so I'm good at running missions, doing mining, doing hauling, doing mining support, stuff like that.

    Hey everyone,

Hello! I started playing EVE back in 2006, and played steadily for a number of years until taking a longish break. In that time, I've lived just about everywhere but wormholes.

Just a few comments to add to Kerry's above.
    1) Do the starter missions and the career agents. They'll familiarize you with basic mechanics.
    2) Keep the rookie chat / help window open, and monitor it. People will get answers to questions you didn't know you had.
    3) You're immortal, and your ships are consumable items, like ammo in other games. If you get this mind set right, the whole universe of EVE will open to you.
    4) Join a corporation. I found Kassa Stellar Dynamics, run by people on this forum, to be a friendly and welcoming place.
    5) Don't fly what you can't replace.

Feel free to convo me in game (Adhar Khorin) if you have questions - and welcome to EVE.
#1 PvP in EVE is consensual; you consent to it when you log in.
#2 If you're in a fair fight in EVE, somebody goofed.
