    ARES ROLEPLAY PROJECT SURVEY RESULTS

    MARCH 2017 APPROVAL: 95%

    DEPARTMENT REVIEW:
    NOT REQUIRED

    SURVEY FEEDBACK

Comments provided by Caymen Greener, who is our Lead Simulations Officer for Ares Roleplay. Please feel free to contact him if you have any questions or concerns. Cool

It is pleasing to see a general consensus on the success and enjoyment of Ares. Having started just this last December, we have not had a lot of time to dedicate to get this thing running and in a fluid motion. However, several of us are having a lot of fun creating our own little world and engaging with one another. I hope we can expand in the future, and really get to some meaty missions and explode the story quite a bit. Thanks to everyone for the feedback!

    Going strong!
Bring back RP was one of the best ideas !
Happy to see that it is still running and going with participation. Enjoy seeing the creativity of our community.
It is a bit quiet at the moment but Caymen does a fine job. Keep it up.
I am pleased that a few of you commented positively on Ares. It means a lot that you took time to type up something positive - usually people spend their cycles on the negative. I have been an RP/writing fan for a LONG time and so I just have to say I am glad I can help bring this content back to the UFP.

It has been a bit quiet, although many of you will notice that happens with new initiatives. We get things going, there is an initial excitement, and then we get a bit of a drop-off. We're in that last phase now, with some keen plans coming soon. The majority of our members have written in recently upon prompting saying they are or want to be active, so now we go from there and continue the positive momentum.

Meh. Its roleplay. You can't really "lead" ARES. It requires people to do it of their own fruition so the success of ARES isn't due to anyone but those who create the content.
I would agree here, to an extent. One of the things with simming and roleplay like this is trying to guide the writers or members. Things like providing some coherent/conjoined mission content, ensure people stick to standard templates so we all read the same style, and checking in with folks to ensure they are enjoying themselves or if people need a break. So I would say, as it stands today, you could exchange the word "leader" with "guide" and it would fit just fine. But I would strongly opine that you need at least that guide and organizer or things will inevitably stall. Traditional simming needs even more guidance and leadership, as it is more structured and "command" driven. But as we've set it up, it is indeed up to the players moreso. So get writing, people!

    I'm new
    not seen much of it
No interactions with it too give quality feedback about it.
I would make a more detailed comment but I am now here and have only been a member for maybe a week at most.
have yet to try it so no opinion
Then you need to check us out, read our logs, and join. No excuses! Smile Seriously, it's not for everyone, and it is fairly new. But if you want to create a sort of fantasy world for a Trek ship of your liking, and maybe write some creative stories, this is your chance.

It should be a CL5 department.
This has been discussed, actually. While I would love the ultimate power that comes with the light blue label, and rule over the division with an iron fist, we're just not that big or active yet. We are new, still figuring ourselves out a bit, and as was mentioned above not as active as we could be. Once we get to some critical numbers and things are humming along, then the powers-that-be can help determine the type of department it should be.

For some historical context, I ran the Harriers CL5 division for a couple years which included the Simming group. However, it also included the RPG-X roleplays and we did some STO roleplays as well. So it had a lot more going on, and a lot more activity, in addition to a proven track record (the sims had been running for a couple years by that time). Ares is not really up to that level.

    Meow meow meow
    Agreed!
