    No doubt SC is a novel idea and it really is different in terms of time consumption. But I agree that they should start releasing at least parts of the game to the community. I mean it's not unheard of for a game to have taken 10y to go from alpha to limitted release. Perhaps the fact that SC is crowd funded increases that demand for immediate delivery.

    There are parts of the game that are released right now. Arena Commander and Star Marine have been out. 3.0 comes out this summer that starts the release of non-combat roles in the verse not to mention planetary landings.

    Let's not forget that when this game started envelopment it's not like they were an fully functional game development company. They literally built the company and studios from the ground up the past 6 years, not just a game. They are developing new tools and new technologies in order to create this game.

    It's ambitions and yes, it's probably going to be another 2 years before it's "final" but honestly I see this going the elite route and never really being final and I'm okay with that. The idea of this game is so far ahead of it's time.

    I'm a contributor to the verse, yet I confess to not having a good grasp of the game's ambitions. Is there a strong vision document or video that explains what RSI is aiming for?

    They have an updated website coming out with 3.0 in the next few weeks. Here is what is there now though.
