When you press the spacebar, usually when typing, which hand is the one that normally presses down on it?

For me, it's my left, I use my thumb for the spacebar.

I type kinda strangely, my left hand does the majority of the key pressing while my right hand just hits the keys that are too far away, so I guess to answer your question it's my left forefinger that hits it mostly.

It sounds kinda weird but I can type fast enough, my thumb doesn't really do much, just hangs there outside of the keyboard.

I am left handed so I guess that might contribute to this? (Also could be a great future question, which is your dominant hand?)

It depends what type of game i play or the type of work i do. I use left and right.

When gaming, left thumb on WASD combination. When performing my duties at work or typing in general; alternative iterations between my left thumb and right thumb. I type with all ten fingers.. :>

For me it seems to depend on what the last key before space is. When there is letters on the right side I use right thumb, on left side it is the left thumb, and some times I and up using both thumbs at the same time.

Hm, I need to change my answer on the poll.

I was thinking "Left" because that's how I game, but even just typing this out (with two hands) it really does depend on what letter was last pressed while typing.

Well when gaming, I usually use my left thumb, but I do far more plain typing than gaming and tend to use my right thumb and index finger to press the space bar when i am typing.

I know that using the index finger for the space bar isn't proper, but for me it's quick, so I tend to mainly only use my thumb when I am typing something that used the right-hand keys extensively. I also tend to use the cursor control keys more often than the mouse, so my right hand tends to stay on the keyboard anyways which gives me little reason to use my left hand since I am right-handed.

For me it's my left as whenever I'm typing the thumb is either resting on it or just over it, although that might partially have to do with years of pc gaming and using WSAD and space to jump, although having been typing this I have hit it a few times with my right thumb soooo

I either alternate between the hand that feels better for the position my hands are in, or I use both at the same time. I normally end up pressing with my right more often, but not enough to say I prefer one hand or the other
