I agree with whatever he said, as that's how I personally feel about this whole Discovery. I'll admit its to the extent that I am prioritizing watching Orville over Discovery.

I like the idea of just calling it a reboot, that way they can change everything and tell whatever stories they like.

I guess I was simply looking forward to a continuation or something from the prime Star Trek I know. I hate reboots, there's nothing new about them other than effects. I would've loved a continuation to Enterprise, or DS9 or Voyager. A chance to maybe get guest appearances from all those shows (which doesn't seem likely at all with Discovery).

After watching that trailer for the Orville, I'm sold and I will be able to watch more than one episode without shelling out some cash. Now how long will Fox keep it on the air is the question. Firefly was great and they caned it after 13 episodes.

At this point I feel the same. I do like the Abrams movies for their visual appearance feels more real. However it was kind of hard to adjust to Star Trek Enterprise after watching the Next Generation.

I'm willing to get Discovery a chance but if the franchise has already taken the hits it has then I'd say hope is limited. It always about money and its obvious fan speak out about sticking to Rodenberry's vision.

After watching the trailer for Orville and being a big fan of his I can say that yeah I will go into this knowing I will like Orville and not knowing what to expect with Discovery.

The interresting thing for me is that, Axanar replicated the Pre - TOS "The Cage" look, and still made it look modern, but I will also look for Orville first and not Discovery.

...that's been common knowledge for over a year now...

And also, it'll be on CBS All Access, a subscription-only streaming service, so it's pretty bad all around.

I actually wouldn't really have a problem with it being on Netflix here in the US because at least you would be able to access more content. but alas that is not the case.

Well doh! Honestly, the time frame doesn't interest me one bit so, I really haven't been following it. Oh and with the announcement long ago with cbs prime turned me off since. However I didn't know about the Netflix portion so now I'm dependently not even interested at all. I'm fine with the classic series TOS, VOY, DS9, TNG.

I just looked again at the Prelude to Axanar.

Star Trek fan does have lots of talented peoples. Prelude to Axanar, for me, is so much superior to Discovery. CBS will RIP Star Trek.

I hope they don't consider Discovery a reboot as it will end up making a lot of things more confusing as you'd have three separate timelines to consider.

It looks like they've taken a lot of inspiration on looks and such from the Abrams movies, which is perhaps why it'd be easier to call it that though.
