Hello all,

I just am curious as to what you guys use for a keyboard and mouse. I currently have a Corsair K70 (yummy Cherry MX Browns) and a M65.

Do any of you have a special preference on keyboards or key switches?

I have a Razer Black Widow Chroma (2015), Razer Mamba Tournament Edition (Chroma) on a Razer Firefly, Razer Kraken 7.1 Headphones.

The only issue I have with my mouse is that occasionally it'll stop working altogether, randomly, requiring it to be plugged back in. Doesn't matter what port its in, and it's done it on two different Motherboards, and Razer's tech support hasn't returned my tech support request in 14 months, despite resubmitting it.

I have a similar issue with my Razer Kraken headset that I picked up, it has to be plugged in or my speakers don't work, I don't get it.

How is the firefly as a mousepad? Is it textured properly for good mouse movement? Tey looks really cool and I want to add something to benefit my red/black scheme of my PC build.

Lacking the function keys seems a little.. odd if you ask me, I have most of my menu keys bound to them in STO. The keyboard actually looks really good though, I will give it that.

If you're in need of a replacement the M65 I am using is pretty great, not the cheapest though.

It's a small keyboard, and it's not so much that I straight don't have F keys; they are just on an Fn layer. This is fine for general use, but it's suboptimal for gaming. Part of the reason I got the keyboard was that it was one of the few I could find that both looked decent and was available for next day shipping with Amazon Prime since my Black Widow up and died on me.

How is the firefly as a mousepad?

Silky smooth; only takes the slightest movement to get the mouse to move. But lighting config is very limited, I would suggest getting a non-RGB one.

I've used Logitech for peripherals for many years and never had a problem with them. Used to have a Logitech G15 v2 keyboard, and Logitech G35 headset, with a Logitech Marble Mouse (trackball). Now I have Sennheiser GAME ZERO headphones, a Logitech G810 keyboard, and a Logitech G502 mouse.

The mouse is brilliant. You can 'configure' it to your desk surface so I don't even need a mouse mat

I've had various combinations of things over the years, but these days I swear by Corsair. I'm using the Corsair M65 RGB mouse and the newest addition is the K70 RGB LUX Cherry MX Red keyboard. It's a lovely piece of kit and the first mechanical keyboard I've owned. It may cost a bit but it just feels so right, it's made from aluminium rather than plastic and should last for years. It also comes with some swappable textured surface keys for the WASDQE keys but I kept the standard ones on.

I've also got the Corsair MM300 Mouse Mat - it's about 3 feet long so the keyboard sits on it as well and the edging is stitched to prevent fraying. Also sets off the desk very nicely too.

Since i use an Alienware laptop, it is the laptop keyboard, all lite up in multiple colors.

For mouse i use the Logitech G602.

My Alienware is the M14x.

Logitech G610 with red MX's, I tend to have a short stroke so I dont bottom them out alot. Yeah I just re-read that statment and .......
Mice are G502 and G600, yes I use 2 mice, ones a MMO mouse. Pads a G240.

Been a fan of Logitech for a good while myself. I use the Logitech G710+ with Brown MX switches and my mouse is the Logitech G500s and my headphones are Turtle Beach Ear Force Z11. Good headphones for a good price.

Well, I only use a random and cheap keyboard and mouse. For gaming, even for STO I prefer a gamepad, maybe because I was a console player basically all my life. At the moment I am using the Steam Controller which is quite nice because you can customize it completely, use it as a mouse and also program some macros, very useful. I normally play without headset but right over my big TV in the living room. If using a headset I have a Logitech wireless one.

If I should decide to switch to keyboard+mouse someday this thread will be my first read.

I have the LUX K70 too, only in MX Browns . I just picked this up after I accidentally murdered my WASD MX Blue keyboard via coffee. I've had the M65 for almost 4 years now and it has been an incredibly solid mouse.

As Far as my mat goes I am using the really big Razer Goliathus one, the cloth one. Right now it is a bit too big for my desk .

I have heard the Steam Controller does really well with games such as Civilisations and Rocket League, how does it perform for FPS and RTS?

I just got my K70 with the browns, and I am in love. They are so butter smooth, yet they are perfectly light and tactile. The perfect mix between MX red and MX blue. I tried red and they felt mushy, and I liked blues but they were a little too stiff for my taste. How do you like the browns?
