Hello there, My name is Franz Hauptmann Captain of the U.S.S. Yorktown. I am happy I finally found a community that is composed of people who are fans of Star Trek in all in it's forms, I would have joined sooner had I known this place exsisted. I represent the United Federation of Planets, But my life is my ship and her crew.
I was introduced to Star Trek when I was 5 or 6 years old in the 1980's watching reruns of TOS, and I was hooked, I fell in love with Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty etc, TNG finally came out and loved as well, read what I could find, comics. video games. just couldn't get enough, even growing up, I played alot of Trek games, and began Role Playing alot. My first game was Star Trek The Rebel Universe on the Atari ST Computer. These characters were simply like my friends to me, Still play STO to this day. My favourite show is TOS but followed very closely by DS9. Favourite Episode?

FILM: Star Trek III the Search for Spock

Those are awesome episodes. My favorites are the ones with time travel; they need a good story to explain the science and ramifications.

Like you TOS in the 80's was my starting point and I was about the same age as well. My pick for the favourite episode would go to Balance of Terror, a battle of ships and wits.
Trivia: Balance of Terror is heavily based on a Robert Mitchum film from 1957, The Enemy Below.

Welcome aboard Hauptmann! I really enjoy Voyager but after I had watched DS9 thru (ty Netflix) I was hooked and it's my favorite series. They really get deep into the characters and I like the spiritual aspects too with the Bajorans and how important Sisko becomes by the end.
