    Sorry I missed this.

Ari, I can explain it. The Boleans are lovers, and during a particular interesting intimate moment, Sugrinn found them. He then tried to join the party but forgot the drinks. This made Kerm very cross. Seeing him a tad on the upset, Vizith giggled. Sugrinn shrugged and walked out of the room leaving the door open. That's when the First Officer walked past and promptly canceled Kerm's post-holiday party. Kerm and Vizith parted ways as a couple shortly after that.

SO, when you decided to host a holiday party for the crew, these misfits showed up and really put a downer on the shindig, even though each of them are very congenial … separate from each other..

Thus, the party was a failure. Sorry man.

    Here's the deal:

I got a new cable modem from my ISP. DOCSIS 3.1 and all that. Immediately, I started losing connection at random intervals. Running the dumbed-down Windows 10 troubleshooter resulted in the very helpful, "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding."

The recommended solutions are to change the IPv4/IPv6 settings to allow for auto configuration of the IP and DNS. Well, that's what I had on the PC. The router is set to accept IP autoconfig, but the DNS is pointed to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. I can't get into the new cable modem. My ISP has disabled the client-side access. I can't view the SNR, channel locks... nothing. Punch in 192.168.100.1 and it 404s. I tried a trick, pointing 192.168.100.1 to modem in the hosts file and I got an interface that asked for the "Password of the Day". Anyway...

So I'm running pings and tracerts trying to hunt down the choke point (it's the plant, has been for years), and I tracert google and amazon and twitter and facebook and the beeb and the white house and pornhub. Yes, pornhub. Why tracert pornhub? Because it's always available and reliable. Plus, I think they would appreciate being tracert'd. They're very helpful over there (so I have read).

Here's the thing, I was in a DM with my ISP on Twitter while I was tracert'ing. I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing, and when I typed in tracert pornhub.com and hit enter... It was in the DM window in Twitter, not the command console on my PC. So my ISP got the pornhub tracert as a DM.

    How's YOUR Wednesday morning going?

    Healthcare.

It is currently a topic on the front page of the site, so I thought I would share my experience with the United States healthcare system (such as it is).

Caution!! Very very long and pointless post ahead

Back in February 2005, I spent two days in a fever-induced delusional state. I hadn't had the common decency to call my employers to tell them I would be unable to work for a couple of days because, well, I was sweating through the sheets in my bedroom, not knowing what was going on. That's what high fevers do. But, as soon as the fever broke, and I had figured out what happened, I called my boss and apologized and explained the situation. It didn't matter. I was canned.

Over the next few months, I dealt with several bouts of seemingly minor illnesses that had the same basic symptoms. High fever, chills, loss of awareness, sweating, and decentralized pain in my chest, back, and left hip (weird, that one). Because I was unemployed at the time, I had no health insurance and no doctor. This is a VERY common situation in The States.

Then, in August, I was feeling particularly ill. General malaise, fever, chills, and my left nut hurt. I went to an out-patient clinic and I was told I had epididymitis. I was given a prescription for an antibiotic. I was told to follow-up with my own doctor, and I was sent on my merry way. I took the pills, and the pain subsided for a few weeks. I never did follow-up with a doctor because, well, I didn't have insurance and my funds were drying up. Gas the car or see the doctor. Food or doctor. Electricity or doctor. You get the idea.

Finally, on Halloween night, the pain in my left groin (it was radiating from nut to leg to lower abdomen) got to be bad enough that I went to the Emergency Room. When I say pain, I mean that it was severe enough that I could barely walk. That's what finally drove me to see someone. I knew they had to treat me, and the money could be dealt with later. Vitals were checked, blood and urine were taken to various labs, an I.V. was started, and Tylenol was dispensed. Then the test results started to come in.

The bottom line result was that I had an "elevated" white blood cell count (WBC). That's no surprise, considering I was feeling quite ill, and I was a smoker at the time. A "normal" WBC is somewhere around 7,000 WBC per microliter (~7.0 × 109/L). My count was at 36,000+. Antibiotics were ordered and a CT scan was performed. The diagnosis was lymphadenopathy. I had swollen lymph nodes in my neck, chest, abdomen, and groin. I was told to go home, take pills, and follow-up with my doctor. That I still didn't have. Because I had no insurance. So I took the prescription, got it filled, and went home.

The next morning, at about 08:30, I received a call from the hospital. They TOLD me to return. They did not ask me to return, they told me to. So I did. When I arrived, there were admitting papers that had been drawn up and questions about why I had gone home. I explained that I was doing what they told me to do, and that I had never been told that I was being admitted to the hospital. They were very cross. Not cross with me, mind you. They were just very cross in general.

I was admitted. I was admitted to a single-patient room. I had a bathroom, cable TV, and room service on demand. Twenty-four - seven. Pick up the phone? BAM! Cheeseburger. And I had no way to pay for any of it. I figured if I was going to go bankrupt, I was going to get the most out of it! Bring on the surf & turf for lunch! "Why yes, I will have the crème brûlée for dessert." That sort of thing.

Then the lump formed in my left thigh. Inside. Medial. About the size of a Lima bean. CT scans were ordered (again), a needle biopsy was scheduled, and Clindamycin was pushed. They thought it was a bacterial infection, but they wanted to be certain. This was a full-on surgical procedure. Operating room and anesthesia and everything. They weren't messing around, now.

After the needle biopsy, the results came back: CT scan said swollen lymph nodes all over the place. The biospy said, "Infection". The oncologist said, "If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it isn't cancer." Continue the Clindamycin and good luck, Sonny-boy. All of that took six days. In a private room. With full room service. I still had no money and no insurance. I was SO screwed.

But I was discharged, given a prescription, and told to follow-up with my (still nonexistent) doctor in a few days. They would mail me the bill.

Less than 24 hours later, the rash developed. Head-to-toe. Itchy, scaly, flaky, bumpy, hard, and red. I went back to the Emergency Room. They didn't even take me back to the unit. Papers were signed and I was back in my old room. The Clindamycin was stopped and a Dermatologist took several core samples. I still have the scars from the bore holes he drilled into me. The oncologist returned as well. Blood and urine and feces were all collected and analyzed. More CT scans. And this time an excisional biopsy was ordered. They were going to cut that lymph node out and freeze it and slice it like fine Prosciutto.

November 11, 2005. Armistice Day. Veteran's Day. The day I found out that I had cancer. Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

More scans. CT, MUGA, PET in quick succession. A bone marrow biopsy was performed. All medicines were stopped. A subclavian port was installed to prepare for the upcoming chemotherapy treatments.

After staging, it turned out to be Hodgkin's Lymphoma IIIB2.

I made it through chemo and didn't lose my beard or the hair on my head. My arms, legs, and groin all went bald. My eyebrows fell out, which was weird. But all went well and I am in full remission 14 years later. So there's that.

The bill from the hospital - not the chemo or anything else - came to $257,000.00. For two weeks in hospital and the one Emergency Room visit. That didn't include the individual doctors. The D.O., the oncologists (that got it WRONG the first time), the surgeons, the anesthetists, the dermatologist, the lab techs (who ALSO got it WRONG the first time), none of them were included in that bill. The $257,000.00 was just for the hospital.

And I was unemployed and had no insurance.

However, the hospital had a social services coordinator. Her job was to find ways for the hospital to get paid without causing my great-grandchildren to have to pay off my bills. She was cute. I was not. But anyway...

The United States has a social program called Medicaid. It's low-to-zero cost medical insurance for poor people, basically. Federal funds are given to the states and the states set the program eligibility guidelines. Thanks to Kimberly (her name was Kimberly), I was able to get Medicaid insurance. It paid 100% of my hospital, doctor, and chemotherapy costs. I got low-cost prescriptions ($1 or $2 each) and I finally found a doctor. The doctor reminded me A LOT of Lisa Edelstein (Dr. Cuddy on House M.D.) - in a good way.

So, for 5 years, as long as I remained un- or under-employed, I had insurance. But if I found employment that would put me over the poverty line, it would all go away. Jobs that put you just over the poverty line aren't going to carry low-cost, employer-provided healthcare insurance. Not that would cover me. A fat, diabetic, former smoker with a history of cancer? But it happened. I found a job that paid too much, and in 2011 I lost Medicaid coverage. I haven't been able to find insurance that will cover me at a decent price.

Here I am. I'm still a fat, diabetic, former smoker and cancer survivor. The difference now is that I don't have access to the medications that treat the diabetes.

I would LOVE a hybridized healthcare system. If you can pay for uprated health insurance, go get you some! More power to you. But everyone receives basic preventative and emergent care at no - or little - cost. How hard is that?

In America, the cost of any medical procedure is based not on what the doctor charges, but what the insurance company will pay. If two people go to the doctor and have the exact same procedure performed, the bill is determined by which insurance (if any) they carry. Doctor's fees are negotiated with insurance companies, and the cost of any procedure is based on those negotiations. Ask the billing clerk at the doctor's office how much a flu shot costs. I'll lay odds that the first words in response will be, "What insurance do you have?"
"And when I saw the breadth of my domain, I wept, for there were no more worlds left to conquer."

Sounds like it's very unregulated as well if it depends on what insurance you have, rather than the cost of something. I just don't understand the arguments against universal healthcare, it's free at the point of use for anyone, regardless of wealth or social status. The only things not covered are cosmetic treatments where it doesn't cause impact on someone, but if it's cosmetic for the purpose of improving health, it is covered, like breast reduction can be covered if the size is causing issue for back problems. Breast enlargement could be given if serious mental wellbeing is damaged by size, hard to prove, but can be done.

Often the only things not covered are medications that are too experimental, or expensive for the NHS to be able to cover. Which is a problem for people with rare illnesses, or in such circumstances where such drugs are needed.

    That’s a lot you’ve been through AT.

From someone outside the US, I was always fussed by how medicines for flu, stomach flu etc can even be found in supermarkets or even bought in pharmacies without prescription. Nor would hospital here charge me insanely for simple cold examination and cure. (AFAIK this also varies from state to state)

During my last trip to DC I fell really ill. Luckily I had a friend who is a doctor there and I called her in middle of night. She told me the exact same thing, her hospital would charge me hell for it regardless of if my insurance is international or works there or not. She was nice enough to call some pharmacy sending her credentials and prescription and also have them delivered to my hotel. Since then, I carry my own bag of medicines when I travel to US or anywhere for that matter.

The price of medical procedures here are based on insurance prices too, but it’s been regulated here with medical bodies by what that price is which insurances have set. Insurances can’t rack up prices as they like, the medical community of doctors need to agree if at all justified. Due to this even insurances ensure doctors aren’t simply writing medicines to patients to exploit insurance coverage. So it’s become a symbiotic self check AND cross check system.

But yes, if you were able to fully cover yourself medically with no income and struggling when you got a job - this is definitely a problem. So you’re happy you got a job but at the same time screwed over.

Yea, I believe in UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand the Government reviews and set's the price (limits the profit they can charge or regulates it) but in Canada at least Basic Healthcare (Broken Bones, Disease Diagnosis/Treatment, Surgery, etc...) is a human right for everyone. Though some provinces charge a monthly premium which is often then covered by (most employers) typically 70-120.00 a month for a single person or 2.5x as much for a family. The rest however comes from tax revenues, which most if not all pay into or often have for decades depending on the individual or situation involved. Some Provinces however don't charge a premium at all like Alberta and a limited few others, yet similar to the states, employers pay the Government Healthcare Premium yet still offer separate extended Healthcare Plans as well. As Basic Healthcare does not include Prescription Medications, Physio, Chiropractic, Massage, or several other added Health benefits we can all sometimes need. How much of those is covered varies wildly based on the plans offered by the Employer; several provinces similar to the States do offer Low Income Prescription coverage similar to Medicaid, or Medicare, for example.

There is now a move at the Federal level to mandate a Federal minimum Standard.

We all are on a different journey, and some are given far different and significantly greatly challenges, obstacles, roadblocks along the way. And you never know what challenges someone has faced until you've walked in their shoes; yet if most were given the choice to walk in their shoes would likely choose not to. Regardless which side or to what extreme anyone has seen up to the current moment, doesn't mean that one day you won't wake up with night sweats or something similar; and you're life almost over night changes into something you'd never envisioned.

In fact another Canadian stated that if it wasn't for Canada's Healthcare system, they might not even be here anymore (perhaps I don't recall who or it's not my place to repeat it) or might have experienced things more similar to you.

Yet after reading your note above, realize it too can still happen(s) in Canada as well, in fact a member of the House of Common's (Lady) to the Conservative Caucus, was considered being removed as a Candidate for it. Till she then later identified she went Bankrupt because of Medical reasons and all the symptoms / issues she had been dealing with; the issue were quickly swept away, but it too still happens in Canada far more than many realize. Yet now several years later she has mostly thankfully recovered, and now serves in Canada's highest Government.

It's not a perfect system anywhere... ...yet I hold out hope, maybe Gene's vision, might one day become reality.

Have a good day, Cmdr Taku.

Sounds like it's very unregulated as well if it depends on what insurance you have, rather than the cost of something. I just don't understand the arguments against universal healthcare, it's free at the point of use for anyone, regardless of wealth or social status.
It is very unregulated. The insurance companies say they're over regulated because they can't sell across state lines, but they're full of crap. They can sell in any state where they have a license. Each state requires licensing for insurance sellers. The threat that the states have over the companies, to ensure they operate honestly, is the loss of the license.

I didn't even get into the drug companies' influence on prescriptions and testing. That's where it gets quite nutty. I don't know what it's like over there in the civilsed world, but here in the Colonies, the drug manufacturers advertise directly to consumers. On TV, on the radio, in magazines and billboards, you name it. All of the ads direct people to discuss their issues with their doctors, and ask their doctors if [drug X] would help them. Then the drug manufacturers - literally - wine & dine the doctors (or the office purchaser) and take them on trips for "drug seminars" in Hawai'i or Rome or Tokyo to sell them on the benefits of prescribing their drugs. Then there are the kickbacks per prescription written. Write a scrip for [drug X], get $200.00 or whatever.

So a person sees a commercial that says, "Hey, you! Do you have diabetes? Try this GREAT new drug, [diabetes drug]! Ask your doctor if [diabetes drug] would make your life better! Do it now!" Convinced that this new diabetes drug looks great, the patient goes to their doctor and asks, "Will [diabetes drug] make my life better?" The doctor says, "Why yes, patient, [diabetes drug] WILL make your life better! Here, have a prescription for [diabetes drug]!" The patient gets a drug that might provide a minimal improvement over the generic drug they are already taking, the doctor gets the kickback and the drug manufacturer gets PAID! It's a frickin' disaster.

One of the drugs I was taking during chemo cost me $2.00 a month. That's what I paid. Thanks to information labeling requirements, the pharmacy had to print the actual price of the drug. It was over $500.00 a month. Medicaid paid the rest. Every month for 7 years. I don't remember the name of the drug, but I remember the totals. I worked it out one time. I was paying $12 a month for 9 prescriptions to cover type 2 diabetes and protect my liver, lungs, and heart from the chemo damage (it didn't work, BTW). The total that Medicaid paid was north of $6,000.00 For 270 pills. That's an average of about $22.00 per pill.

We are so messed up over here. So messed up.

The only things not covered are cosmetic treatments where it doesn't cause impact on someone, but if it's cosmetic for the purpose of improving health, it is covered, like breast reduction can be covered if the size is causing issue for back problems. Breast enlargement could be given if serious mental well-being is damaged by size, hard to prove, but can be done.
That's what I support. Free healthcare as needed. Free (or low cost) medical devices. Low cost prescriptions, or free if you qualify. Dental, mental, family planning, all included. Free preventative healthcare. Checkups, screenings, maintenance, all free. But if you want to get your nose reshaped (for non medical reasons), you are . on . your . own.

Often the only things not covered are medications that are too experimental, or expensive for the NHS to be able to cover. Which is a problem for people with rare illnesses, or in such circumstances where such drugs are needed.
Usually if a drug is too experimental it is still in trials. There's a chance that a spot might be open in one of the trials. But there are no guarantees. One of the other issues is the patient's right to assume the risk. If they understand that a drug is experimental and may not work as intended, and they are willing to assume the risk, they should have the right to take the drug. It's a dicey proposal, but it's out there in some circles. The last major push for so-called 'informed consent' prescribing was back when HIV drugs first started showing promise.

Anyway... I'm depressing and pissing off myself.

[TL;DR] The American medical system is broken and the moneyed class likes it broken because it makes them richer. They suck.

    That’s a lot you’ve been through AT.
Yup. But I made it out the other side (more or less). Not everyone does. They don't know about the social programs, or they make just a little too much money to qualify. People die because they don't want to put their families in debt or through bankruptcy. It's insane.

But yes, if you were able to fully cover yourself medically with no income and struggling when you got a job - this is definitely a problem. So you’re happy you got a job but at the same time screwed over.
Yup again. Here's the kicker. If a single man makes more than $1,012.00 per month, it all goes away. Oh, and if you have 'non-exempt' (not your house or one car, and some household items) assets worth more than $3,000.00, it all goes away. That includes savings and pensions and IRAs and... It is, as I said, insane.

It's not a perfect system anywhere... ...yet I hold out hope, maybe Gene's vision, might one day become reality.
    Amen, man.

It started with a post from Understanding the Image of a Black Hole posted by a fellow Canadian aceman67. I especially love how at 4:20 in the Video the EU Commission's Lead stated how a theory made almost 100 years earlier, was now able to be validated and verified by people from all over the world working together.

One of my family worked at Boeing, was a Highly Respected member of their team, and I believe fairly Senior. I remember attending his funeral as a young boy, and the precession of cars was 'very' long. Now 2/3 decades have passed since then, but he Died from a Brain Aneurism, while he was in the Shower when his wife her a big Fall. It was fast and Quick said the doctor's. But as a result Boeing has always held a 'special' place in my .

Recently Buffet said: "Planes have never been so safe," Buffett said, even as he encouraged Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg to always make safety a priority.

I'd agree, perhaps to add the following. An Improved Flight Similulator design for various models might help train &/or coach Pilot's how to resolve the more common, and often far less common situations that can arise. Even as extreme as landing a plane on the Hudson which was 'thought' brought down by a Canada Goose. Thankfully though, someone or something else inspired the Pilot (a skilled navigator) & his co-pilot to result in zero loss of life. But that was a different type of Bird, it was an Airbus not a Boeing.

"Pseudoscience consists of statements, beliefs, or practices that are claimed to be both scientific and factual, but are incompatible with the scientific method. Pseudoscience is often characterized by contradictory, exaggerated or unfalsifiable claims; reliance on confirmation bias rather than rigorous attempts at refutation; lack of openness to evaluation by other experts"

    Pseudoscience

'TREU" This is relavent because several idea's within the GTR, could only be tested & further examined several decades after, in fact several have been only confirmed in the last decade or very recently in fact.

Yet, while Einstein developed much of the GTR without expert consultation, he was also a great reader while working inside a patent office reviewing proposals, he also greatly expanded knowledge through personal research. Much of that came prior, during, or following any course work; as much of his investigation were beyond programs or course learning guidelines. Still while he did consult or review hypothosis with other scientists, most of the work was consultation however through books, yet it would be irresponsible to claim he hadn't consulted some of the greatest scientific minds of his time. Just often 80-90% of it thru his personal of reading and science. Yet recently once again, the GTR has been again largely validated, among other idea's related to Black Holes from a few other scientists. It was +80 years ago the GTR first published, it was in 1915 as shown HERE.

NOTE: Possibly a senseless & long post, or a 7 [min] read highly interesting to others.
While there 'may' lie a few opportunities for improvement, as time & understanding grows, not only about ourselves and the universe; it still remains one of the most solid theories known to be in existance.

While writing this out I had '47' pop into mind. Perhaps a reference to 7 being higher help or DOT7's implied in another thread, the four I think references more a solid foundation to build upon. But while this makes no sense to some now, read-on and follow it through to the end of the Spoiler, as we'll likely end very closely to where it began.

Stephan Hawkings was hugely fasinated by Black Hole's, some call him a specialist or a scientist, who studied Physics at the University of Oxford; later became a Professor among not only the term survivor who drastically out lived his diagnosis. Like many things in science there's often several related or closely linked principles, and each builds upon others so without exploring several, you can miss out on several others. Stephen was also strongly influenced by Einstein for much of his work at the University

To prove that just watch his acting debut HERE, as it shows two men who were a huge inspiration to how he viewed the world, and also gave him the will to continue, when after attending University he was diagnosed with a condition at the age of 21, as identified by a AU ABC news organization.

So he was a HUGE Star Trek fan as well like myself! I particularly like the TNG episode clip at 1:27 (denote # above), but I won't provide spoilers so you'll have to watch the clip. Though I liked the implied statement that Einsteen couldn't do simple math, because likely nothing was further from the truth. In fact the show twists a claim mistakenly made about both men albeit in their younger years, though perhaps more famously about Einstein. While Stephen Studied Physics at Oxford, he also had a 'solid' foundation in mathematic's, and was a former Lucasian Professor of Mathematics, at the University of Cambridge where he lived.

Yet Cambridge partially identified it in the claim here, "Despite the fact that he was always ranked at the lower end of his class by teachers, his school friends nicknamed him ‘Einstein’ and seemed to have encouraged his interest in science. In his own words, “physics and astronomy offered the hope of understanding where we came from and why we are here. I wanted to fathom the depths of the Universe.” After graduating Oxford with a first class honors degree, as his love of science matured, so did his love of math, as he did his PhD at Cambridge in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics.

Einstein was also mistaken in this false mischaracterization : the act or an instance of characterizing someone or something wrongly. As Einstein was also far better at Math than he was at Physics, and both shared a passion for Math to which this article concludes, "Hawking had just recorded a cameo for a new radio version of Douglas Adams' Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, so as that other late, great visionary once wrote (sort of): So long, Professor Hawking, and thanks for all the fish." It then references a NY Times article for those wanting to read more.

I also liked the 1:07 portion where Data states, "Where I play Poker with my Shipmates" or just like how we engage in the forums the idea res·o·nates. So listen to what follows, as it's wise advise coming from an Artificial Intelligence, though Data is often kind, respectful, as he takes his queue's from Picard; and yet still feels inadequate, as he's always trying to become more 'Hu'man. Some believe Human's were created in the image of our creator; yet regardless what you believe we need more <3 and less hate.

NOTE: The Wiki explantion of Hu or HU 'more specifically' referenced in Mythology.
    ▪ Hu (mythology)
    ▪ Hu (Sufism)
    ▪ HU - a mantra popularized by the religion Eckankar as a name for and love song to God.

Only meant to imply, let your inner light shine, and be open to possibilities--whatever they may be.

Perspective / Perhaps? Yet 4'7's got his back in Poker, just paired with a J♦ in as well.

So read what you want into things, but hopefully reflect on it, perhaps even do a bit of research on Stephen, and or his two 'inspirations' shown above. You never know where you might be inspired to 'open' your mind to new possibilities.

Always assume the 'best' or 'good' intentions in others; though it's sometimes hard for everyone, especially when we are having a bad day, or particularly bad week.

This article is also quite fasinating and a worthy read HERE in which it had identifies another 4 minute read for people. Yet it's all relative, to your reading spead, comprehension, familarization, or depends on the familarity of the subject matter. The particular point or paragraph I wanted to draw attention to is here:

"In this conception, all information about anything that ventures past a black hole's event horizon is destroyed. On the other hand, quantum physics, the best description so far of how the universe behaves on a subatomic level, suggests that information cannot ever be destroyed, leading to a fundamental conflict in theory."

That was an 'idea' Stephen was trying to challenge.

As Black Holes also have several un·or·tho·dox qualities we still don't fully understand, and he implies that in the above article. So I can only suggest is it possible at the outer plane just inside the Event Horizon, that as Hawkings suggests may not exist, or is perhaps different than we first thought. So like him I also don't believe it's inescapable, depends on how one or things are transformed, as he eludes to in the National Geographic Article perhaps? Also I don't know how many think to ask, does all information that enters a Black Hole, get perhaps written on it's outer most plane, just inside the 'thought' Event Horizon. For example as a Translucent 2D (flat - like a protection membrane) plane, so when light crosses it projects a hologram perhaps?

    gwHahiT

Hologram's start in flat 2D world but often project into the 3D like we see in Star Trek, that represents this 3D / three dimensional storage/persception? In fact the same could be true for our Galaxy, as it's also thought to be 2D construct. This is an idea I've long held as a view, responsible for how imformation is transformed by a Black Holes, yet it's likely some information also escapes.

NOTE: This idea spawned from Black Holes in Quantum Physics--see the next paragraph. But that also doesn't explore what happens if they explode, but that's another ball of wax & one Hawkings was exploring...

Many Scientists in fact believe our Universe is actually 2D, only persceived in 3D as it would resolve discrepancies, between General Theory of Relativity and others in Quantum Physics. Realize this idea of holographic principle came from Black Holes as denoted in the Wiki, which also has ties to String Theory. I love Brian Greene who is also a String Theorist who shares a similar First Initial & Surname to my cousin, who had lived in the same building as Sarah McLaughlin for many years.

But I've already gone to DEEP for most, so I won't dive into each and every facit raised, by the various Scientists in the NG article. We'll only left to discover this together, with time, examination, and patience -- and the highly educated scientists working with many a 'few' Highly Creative Minds identified in some organizations (above - early post) but countless as well with patience, compassion, and kindness for one another.

FACT: Ref (above) Einstein & Hawkings '2' men I greatly respect, one born on Mar 14, the other died.

Interesting Video - Healthy Skepticism Jan 19 - 2017 | about EM drive.
Jan 11 - 2017 | discuss possibilities, but suspects it's not conclusive yet.
Popular Mechanic's also frames the 2nd video, attempting to explain, how could it be break the laws of physics?

Now what have we learned since? For those wanting to know more about Black Holes, can visit the Goddard Space Flight Center. In the NASA Q&A section of the page identified on Black Holes, also has a LINK at bottom to submit a question to an Astrophysicist. One possible question might be, is the PBS Video correct about EM Drive inplausible? Despite the fact it violates many know laws of Physics, if you follow their guidelines might get a reply in 1-2 weeks.

As I said to Mr. Taku earlier above, it be great if 'Hu'manity learned to evolve, and adopt a vision more of Roddenberry.

There is likely countless Einstein's, Hawkings, we failed to 'give' opportunities, to allow them to grow & prosper--everybody has value, or the potential to grow.

    Live Long and Prosper

PS: I didn't write the above though, it was inspired by Q2 who passed it on, to Q and he asked it be posted to the forums. Wink

Hmm interesting twist on the something the Miracle Worker discovered... ...a reference to Mr. Scotty of course.

NOTE: See Bubbleworld & Postulated explanations. Suspicious

Reference to the 2D/3D Holographic principle on what Q2 proposed above; but those familiar with Cannon, he's still around on Earth, it's only 2019.

Well it's not quite the 'same' thing, yet could some of the principles apply, and video provides context:

    - - - UPDATE - - -
"The spacetime of our universe is usually interpreted from a Euclidean space perspective, which regards space as consisting of three dimensions, and time as consisting of one dimension, the "fourth dimension" --Wikipedia

So perhaps all Q2 was suggesting was this:

Is the 3D 'construct' we per·ceive perhaps 2D, and is 4D (spacetime) perhaps the 3rd. If Spacetime doesn't play by the same rules the faster you approach the Speed of Light, but it's not only that as time also flows differently for Astronauts that it does for those on Earth, so consider Einstein applied that idea to Newton's law with respect to something else when Newton's law is more replaced by his own.

So if Light &/or Spacetime rules change based on the 'observer' and Light can't escape Black Holes with Massive Gravity. Then do the same rules perhaps apply to spacetime differently to Black Holes as even Light can't escape it.

Now if Light can't escape which isn't almost as fast as it, it is as fast as itself, and if even at close to it Einstein suggests the faster you approach it the more 'Euclidean' it gets. Maybe that goes over everyone's head, but perhaps some scientist might have a better understanding of what it perhaps might imply along with several others suggested above. Wink

    Chicken &/or Egg first.
╘ But maybe that's just a different farfetched kind of crazy.

NOTE: The Super Nova &/or Big Bang (as another separate yet similar concept) which is thought to either create another Star &/or a Black Hole. So it's just another explosion or implosion (paradox) of which came first. What 'people' or scientists may 'infer' from the implied statements above may vary, but I guess it might require a conversation or rethinking a 'few thoughts' as implied with the Dyson principle or String Theory.

But I'm still waiting on the T6 Dyson Ships to be released and no 'official' announcement has been made yet.

I want to confess my love for Chicken BBQ Pizza. New York Pizzeria style specifically.
