    Build Considerations:

    As above, the goal for the build is to be a “support” role: making it easier for others on the Team to do their desired jobs. This is fun for me and my preferred playstyle. As such, I designed the build for less maximum personal DPS and more allowance to let others maximize their own.

    I’ve gone back to using my precious Spiral Waves Disruptors. Yet, I really enjoy the Trilithium 2-pc (it’s console adds wanted EPS along with weapon haste) which is Phaser-type. Also, the Prolonged Phaser Beam Array is considered the second-best weapon in the game (best being a Disruptor type) AND I recently got my Terran Task Force Phaser. To use all these means using [Beam] Vulnerability Locators.

    Cruisers tend to be slow turning, so for broadsiding, finding maneuverability is important. The Prevailing Engines grant a short-term boost to turn and speed when a BOff hull or shield heal is applied. To this end, there are three avenues.

    For BOff cooldown management (CDM), I am relying on a mix of Skill Tree Readiness and Kremin Bridge Officers, based on the Kraken Build doctrine. With three heals sitting in the Engineering abilities, then lowering recharge time is key to maintaining speed and turn through the engines, as above. Tactical and Science abilities are lowered through Readiness skills as well. With fewer Tactical and Science BOff abilities available, the “work” in this build comes from Engineering. As described in the link, these means my DOffs play a less active role as their chance to do X is less relied upon, as needed for A2B, Dragon and Drake builds.

    Having said that, the Starship Trait Improved Weapon Emitters (along with the Temporal Operative Secondary Specialization) allows for a quasi-radboat to be used. So, four abilities are dedicated in this regard with two being Overwhelm Emitters; having a copy has about a 90% uptime even with no other CDM available. Removing this Trait will certainly allow for more “traditional” abilities to be used, like Auxiliary to Battery and likely increase my DPS. Again, I’m trying to support other players by not chasing the highest DPS numbers, while also trying to keep my own efforts respectable.

    1) I love my Spiral Waves too much. They are orange-ish and with the Prolonged and Terran being Phaser ... Don;t get me wrong, I thought to myself after posting that maybe I should go full-phaser again. Will need another Upgrade weekend to get my [Pen] banks to gold though Sad

    2) Oooh, good idea! Should I respec out the Drain in the skill tree?

    3) DONE!

    4) I'm looking at that. Understanding the haste in the Trilithium 2-pc is not THAT much, there is EPS and other bonus missing from the Gamma set I certainly appreciate.

    EDIT - I found out after posting that I am using the Tachyokinetic Converter, so that made it in. AND tweaked with suggestions above. Except the Gamma thing ... still stewing over it. And no respec. Yet.

    Build Considerations:

    As above, the goal for the build is to be a “support” role: making it easier for others on the Team to do their desired jobs. This is fun for me and my preferred playstyle. As such, I designed the build for less maximum personal DPS and more allowance to let others maximize their own.

    I’ve gone back to using my precious Spiral Waves Disruptors. Yet, I enjoy the idea of using the 1st and 2nd best beam weapons in the game along with an Omni-Beam BUT they are Phaser-type. To use all these means using [+Beam] Vulnerability Locators. The purpose to this decision is to use “orange-ish” beams for an almost canon-look.

    Cruisers tend to be slow turning, so for broadsiding, finding maneuverability is important. The Prevailing Engines grant a short-term boost to turn and speed when a BOff hull or shield heal is applied. To this end, there are three avenues. This does mean my focus for placement is elevated based on heals-as-needed. Naturally, parking against relatively slow targets (BORG) removes this issue and making me think to slot a Anchored Trait …

    For BOff cooldown management (CDM), I am relying on a mix of Skill Tree Readiness and Kremin Bridge Officers, based on the Kraken Build doctrine. Tactical and Science abilities are lowered through Readiness skills as well. With fewer Tactical and Science BOff abilities available, the “work” in this build comes from Engineering. As described in the link, these means my DOffs play a less active role as their chance to do X is less relied upon, as needed for A2B, Dragon and Drake builds.

    Having said that, the Resolute’s Starship Trait Improved Weapon Emitters (along with the Temporal Operative Secondary Specialization) allows for a quasi-AoE radboat to be used. So, four abilities are dedicated in this regard with two being Overwhelm Emitters (having a copy has about a 90% uptime even with no other CDM available). Removing this Trait will certainly allow for more “traditional” abilities to be used, like Auxiliary Power to Battery and likely increase my DPS. Again, I’m trying to support other players by not chasing the highest DPS numbers, while also trying to keep my own efforts respectable. Frankly, I like watching my ship move around in combat, instead of the ability bars.

    I tried out the Tactical Maneuvering Matrix … because Resolute console and I am loving it. Fly into a group + OE + TMM + BFAW = glorious.

    SO ... made a few tweaks above. Instead of reposting all that code:

    The Lt Cmdr Engineer now has all the Rad powers. In the UI it is an easy visual grouping and I just click-click-click!

    This means the Cmdr Engineer needed some attention: swapped out EptShields for Engines for some maneuvering. More later. I'm also trying Overload Integrity Field - this gives a bonus to Hull healing so my ET gets stronger. I need to use these together more big effect, but if I'm using a hull heal then I'm getting some HATE.

    Swapped out the Trait "Specialist Knowledge" for Unconventional Tactics - lately I've been using Brace For Impact more often and this Trait gives a boost to damage output soooo ...

    I've been seeing the Gamma ordinance stuff used more often, so I'm giving the Omni beam + console a shot. Besides, the 2-pc has more Turn Smile

    Finally, I switched to Innervated Engines to help with the Tactical stuff.

    My work PC hates a lot of websites and YouTube is certainly one of them. SO, I checked it out on my phone (but only had audio [long story]: he didn't get into the detail I REALLY wanted to know about … BOffs.

    TimberWolf uses A2B, which is fine and expected, but what about the Command hybrid seat? Also he didn't use the Console or Trait (which is something he sometimes does), so the results were certainly better.

    ANNNND he had his tank friend, Dark Blade. SO he didn't have to worry too much about gaining threat and it's management.

    I'll have to watch it a few times (and on a bigger screen) before I serve summary judgment, yet for a quasi-themed Tactical build, the ship did great in good hands Smile

    Which further proves I suck. A lot. Tongue Out
