COMMUNITY SURVEY
HETRO OR LGBT+ WHERE DO YOU FALL?

Greetings Captains,

Back in 2013, Ben Hurley made an LGBT poll, which you can find here if you wish. This survey will be private, so you can choose not to disclose your sexuality if you do not want to, but if you wish to share, then please, post a response to the thread and tell us! If you want to share you experiences too, that is more than welcome.

This is not a thread to have a political debate about sexualities, but a place to just be open and share, should you wish.

Straight, but, I didn't see "grumpy" as an option.

You should not feel uncomfortable, it’s only bigots who judge everyone has a right to freeely express their love for another not matter who they both are

Straight. Also grumpy, especially in the mornings.

I never did have any real luck with women growing up, self-confidence was never my strongest asset. Now I'm married nearly 4 years with the twins on the way.

I'm straight... and whenever this subject comes up in real life, I use the following to try to keep the mood light and keep people from feeling as uncomfortable as some have mentioned above.

When asked for a stance, I say it's not a moral, ethical or societal issue. It's very personal. I am for men being gay and against women being lesbian.

You see, a man cannot simply be gay by himself. He has to have a partner... and so that automatically takes two "dating" competitors out of the picture. The fewer the options for women out there, the better it looks for me! Trust me... I need all the advantages I can get.

However, when a woman is a lesbian, she too must have a partner, thus shrinking the dating pool by two... which is... well, to me... a bad thing! Once again, I need all the advantages I can get!!!

I have yet to have anyone get offended by this stance.... in fact, I usually get laughs. Of course, there is always a first time!

Trey, It would be a much better world if we could all take the phrase "agree to disagree" to heart. I do not have to agree with everything in your life or even about our world to be able to work, socialize or coexist with you. Instead, our world seems to think "If you disagree with me, you hate me!" It is very sad that so many people insist everyone think like them in order to be accepted by them. The prevailing mantra of today is people who disagree with me must be labeled and shunned. This devisiveness only drives us farther apart. I will debate my points of view on most subjects with anyone who wishes to do so, but at the end of the day, you are still my friend. Can you ("you" being anyone reading this) say the same about me?

P.S. Never really said that post truly was my point of view on the subject, just a little humor I use to keep the mood light.

I didn't assume it was your real point of view, I saw it was in jest and decided to twist it around to suit my own preference, more lesbians widens the pool for me after all

I'm straight and I view sexuality as a personal preference as someone had mentioned above, even if it narrows the pool for me.

Why is this poll even up? Who cares. Personally it's no ones business. I mean, you cant even ask this question in the workplace.

Incase people wish to share, it's not a requirement that people respond to this poll, only if they wish to do so! If you do not wish to, that's fine, but others may wish to do so.

I'm definitely other. While I normally say I date people, not gender. I would not be opposed to dating an alien, shifter, vampire or fae and though technically humanoid are not humans. If you open your mouth and something intelligent comes out more then once a day then your a viable candidate for dating. Well looking back at that last sentence I guess you can say I do have a bias... I refuse to date the stupid people.

P.S. Yes I use Grammarly While I may not be a grammar nazi to other people I am one for myself

For those of you who seem to be slightly off put by this thread our motives obviously have not been clear... UFP plans on starting an entirely new Star Trek dating site where love of Star Trek is a must, Betazoid love poems, Orion Slave themed outfits, Klingon Bedroom rituals and re-runs of Deep Space Nine!

As you can tell this post is entirely satirical but amusing!

Sent via the Argus Array, intercepted by the Romulans, sold on as stolen intel by the Ferengi, sent to the Admirals secretary and then passed on to Junior officer, downloaded by section 31, used as a plan to stop the Cardassians and then redirected to the sender two weeks late!
