Hello, everyone!
I've been a member of UFPlanets.com for a little over four years and can't say that I know any member of the fleet.
That's my own fault (I can be a bit of a hermit, and do appreciate having been allowed to be one while belonging to the fleet); however, I'd like to be more involved/get to know more fleet members/participate more in fleet events, etc.
Can anyone help? I'm not even sure I have fleet chat set up properly. . .(actually, it is now, thanks to Riker@N.Bridger)

Try joining the Teamspeak 3 server once in a while, a lot of active members and especially the leadership get on often to just talk, chill and have a good time.

Unfortunately, my headset recently died and I am without a mic (other than the one built in to my laptop). I'll endeavor to get a new one. . .speaking of, where are the instructions for setting up Teamspeak for UFPlanets (I have Teamspeak installed)?

The TS3 address for UFP is ts.ufplanets.com
Go to the connections tab on the top right corner of the drop down menu and select connect, then put the address into the address section. The TS3 does not require a password. Then just simply connect. If you cannot move channels in the TS3, I believe a command officer can assign you a server group, hence giving you the permissions to move freely into the channels that you have clearance to. Also remember to bookmark the address incase you forget and there is also a text channel if you wish to just chat.

Unfortunately, it appears I'll be at work during this event. I'm a City Carrier Assistant (letter carrier) for the United States Postal Service. Mondays are always busy for me. At 1430 CST, I'll likely be delivering packages.

I can appreciate the OP: sometimes I just want to play on my own. Other times, I just have enough time to do a thing. Chatting in any capacity may be a distraction. At the same time, even starting your session with a greeting in the chat line can start a conversation.
