Hi.

I have some vague information about a non-canon ship ( yeah I know there were so few of those lol). Her class is unknown and I personally don't know a lot about ship classes. So I was thinking I could throw out the information I have collected and you all may be able to come back with a list of possible classes of ships I could choose from. Yup I am working on my siggy .

In looking at the names the USS Ad Astra caught my attention as my current ship I named the USS Star Haven and it seems rather fitting to chose her. Here is what I have been able to find about the Astra
She appears first in 2311
She was used as a support ship along with the Enterprise B and the USS Canaveral
She escorted the USS Universe to the first hyper warp drive test
She could only hold a berth a few dozen crew
Last known activity was at DS9 in 2372

Well, that is all I was able to find out. I am sure there are a number of different classes of ships she could have been but I am looking for whatever hits your thoughts first and will go through the list after to see what works for my captain. Thank you in advance and know that the fact so many of you can actually recall this kind of information without even needing a 12" thick book to go through first is amazing and way beyond my poor brain.

I also think it is a Constellation class ship. They can operate on a crew of 40 and were in service at the time.

NCC-1775 USS Quizan, Constitution class hull, Achernar subclass produced in the 2260's, possibly refit 2270's.

Edit: The ship you're asking about could also be this;

NCC-1775 USS Kashima, Constitution class refit, constructed during second phase of Constitution class refit (post 2286).

Zooming in it looks like the USS Atlantis NCC-1778

USS Atlantis was the constitution class option I found for NCC-1778 so it might be that too. I can't really see the last number of that ship's registry so it could also be NCC-1776 USS Bonhomme Richard post refit or the NCC-1776 USS Qual'at among other possibilities.

The small crew makes it a bad fit for anything canon - first I thought a Miranda but that could have a crew of 220.

From what I can personally gather from research into the matter I think it may have been across with the Oberith and Nova classes, more like a prototype Nova class, Originally I thought it would fit the description of a Saladin but the crew complement and construction date didn't match. I think its a cross with the Nova and Oberith because they were small with a low crew compliment and similar construction dates, I imagine the frame of a Nova, but a more defined and circular saucer section, with TMP era nacelles instead of the TNG era kind. If you could give us some relative size parameters It would help with the search.

Anyway, I hope this helps you find the best ship possible and I haven't looked at all the links charts yet but there were a few that reminded me of your ship.

I agree I think it looks great. I can't say the same for the Ramses class escort, It's like the Federation tried to make a bird of prey.
