The Dominion has reined for a thousand years and will rein for many more, they have seen the only victory with their Vorta supervisors and Jem'Hadar soldiers. They ruled most if not all of the Gamma Quadrant, enslaving species after species, for a time they found peace (as there was no one more to conquer). That all changed when the Bajoran wormhole revealed itself to them. Now the Dominion had a direct link to the Alpha Quadrant and all its inhabitants. As we know the Dominion War was the bloodiest war ever fought by the UFP, millions of people died much more injured. But with sheer determination, luck and a little help from some aliens who live in the wormhole, the Dominion, Breen, and Cardassians were defeated at the hands of the Federation, Klingons and Romulans. the end result was a more unified Alpha/Beta Quadrant than ever before! but what if the Dominion Alliance had won? For that to happen certain events must play out differently before and during the war to get an alternate reality where the Dominion won.

This will be split into three sections, pre, during and post-war.

Prewar: The Dominion wanted the Alpha and Beta Quadrants but they knew that to take it they would have to break the Federation-Klingon alliance, they tried to do so when a changeling disguised as Martov influenced the Klingon High Council to go to war with the Cardassian Union who was becoming more and more aggressive to outsiders. When the Klingons attacked the Cardassians were taken off guard and started to lose ground fast. This gave the Maquis (A terrorist group located in the demilitarised zone) a chance to strike at the Cardassians. In a few weeks, the Maquis had taken a majority of the Demilitarized zone and the Klingons were advancing on Cardassia. And the Federation did nothing to help either their allies (the Klingons) who were attacking the Cardassians for no justifiable reason or the Cardassians because they didn't want a war with the Klingons. This drove negotiations for the two empires into a ditch. Now becoming bitter rivals...and then enemies when DS9 was protecting members of the Detopa Council (Cardassian Government) the Klingons and the Federation went to war, both taking heavy casualties (Just what the Dominion wanted, A weak and divided Alpha/Beta Quadrant) but in our timeline the Changeling was exposed and the two empires made peace. Instead of this alternate reality, the Changeling isn't exposed and the true Martov slowly dies in a prison camp far from Dominion territory. A war means more losses more division. That would be the first stepping stone leading to an Alpha/Beta Quadrant under the rule of the Dominion.

During War: Let's say the events still play out the same that lead to the Dominion War, Cardassia joins the Dominion Alliance as thousands of Dominion ships pour through the wormhole leading to Cardassian space. They construct shipyards and cloning vats on Cardassian worlds. to show their strength they obliterate the Maquis in three days. But try to get the Breen and any other Federation hating race to join the Alliance, I would say that the Breen would be sceptical of the Dominion as they haven't shown that they have the strength to win (after all the Maquis weren't ever a threat to the Cardassians, they were too small and weak, they were more of a nuisance). So events play out the same through the first months of the war, the Dominion hammering the Federation and Klingons maybe even better than our timeline. In this reality the Federation-Klingon alliance is never re-instated they are still enemies, I'm sure they would agree to a cease-fire until the war is over but I dought they would be as 'buddy-buddy' as they were in our time. Next, in our time the Dominion used the Cardassians as cannon fodder, having them at the front taking all the damage while acting as a sheild for other Dominion vessels, This greatly upset the Cardassians, In this time the Dominion treats the Cardassians with respect and kindness through the whole war, making highly unlikely for a rebellion. Next, they would try to have the Romulans join the Dominion. It's not an impossibility if the Dominion offered very enticing rewards, such as Vulcan when the war was over. In this reality, the Dominion alliance would consist of the Dominion, Breen, Cardassians and Romulans. The Breen would strike at Earth with a much larger force than our timeline, wiping out Starfleet HQ. The Romulans would mount massive invasions into Klingon and Federation territory as both would be taken off guard. Soon Earth and then Quo'nos would fall.

Post-War: After the war was over the Breen and Romulans would take massive chunks of Federation territory as they were most respected by the Dominion, the Cardassians who had been at war for twice as long as the others would be in no place to argue. The Dominion would now turn to a more Imperialistic approach to others like Bajor as there was no need for sneakiness, they had achieved the beachhead they needed, soon all other races would fall to the Dominion some like the Breen would be cloned like the Vorta and fill a role in the army.
