Personality & Traits
General Overview : Very laid back and quiet, he often stays focused on his duties and brings “homework to the dinner table”. He is humorous around friends and serious when situations arise. He speaks his mind and is unafraid of consequences to himself when others are in trouble.

Strengths & Weaknesses : His greatest strength, taking the burden of others, is also his greatest weakness, sometimes taking on more pressure than he should. He is skilled in unarmed combat and set several freshman records in tactical exercises. He is also very kind to others but his blunt sense of humor often gets in the way of conversation. He is very quiet about many of his early experiences after starting his service during the Dominion War.

Ambitions : Dyrell loves adventure, seeing brave new worlds and learning all he can about the universe. What he wants most is to keep his shipmates safe during hazardous times. His desire to keep others safe after his mother’s death was his inspiration to become a tactical officer rather than science officer. Surprisingly, he cares little for his rank, although his great service led him to be promoted to Lt. Commander.

Hobbies & Interests : Taking after his parents, Dyrell has a keen interest in stellar phenomenon. He enjoys fitness, having participated in Starfleet Academy’s Cross Country Running team. He can often be found in the holodeck practicing his skills at the tactical station onboard various starships.

History
Personal History : Born on Trill to Pyallx Ikkaro and Vlyn Ikkaro, he was named Dyrell Ikkaro at birth. He lived several years there with his older sister, father, and mother. He took great interest in his father’s work on anomalies and solar lifecycles which made the two of them very close. He was extremely distant from his mother, who’s duties as a Starfleet Officer prevented her from being at home all the time. He was very innocent growing up as his father brought him up in a very sheltered lifestyle.

All of that changed the day he learned his mother wouldn’t be coming home. She had been killed during a skirmish with the Cardassians during 2361. Dyrell greatly changed after this, locking himself out from both friends and family as he let his silent rage from not letting his mother in his life consume him. His sister, Arynn, finally helped him open up again. The new him was completely different, as if he had become a different person and aged 10 years in a matter of months. He changed his last name to Teriir, his mother’s maiden name, to honor her memory.

When he was 15, he suddenly decided to attend Starfleet Academy, much to his father's chagrin as he wanted nothing to do with the Federation after his wife's death. Once at the academy, Dyrell distinguished himself as a well rounded and capable cadet, often taking classes outside of his chosen specialization. While there, he made multiple friends whom he essentially treated as family. When the Dominion War erupted at the end of 2373, he and many of his classmates were assigned to the front lines to help bolster the ranks.

During the war, he was given the rank of Ensign and was formally promoted to Lt. Junior Grade near the end of the war. Dyrell participated in 30 named engagements during the war as a member of the Federation 6th Fleet. Notable battles include; Operation Return, Fall of Deneb, 1st Battle of Chin'Toka, Defense of Starbase 211, Battle of the Shattered Moon, and Battle of Cardassia. He continued service as a Tactical Officer after the war's conclusion. He has since volunteered to serve aboard the USS Ares during the Semper Exploro Project and given the position of Chief Tactical Officer.
