Hopefully a story expansion towards Kardassians and Dominon - but I'm certain the results of "Romulans" implementation speak for itself. Don't think Cryptic will try bringing a new faction ever again, when even today the Klingons need more member base.

If they make the Gamma Quadrant larger than the Delta, and with all of the DS9 content they could really do a lot of stories there.

I'm guessing they may do some things with the Hur'q and the sword of Kahless

A new Admiralty class.
They can always add a new Admiralty class.
Cardassian, Bajoran, Andorian, Xindi… Literally, who can you name? They can be part of the Admiralty system. Why not the Lukari?
It would give us something new to do for a week or so.

There's one chief problem with a playable Cardassian faction: their two most recognizable ships are already Lockbox-bait. It'd be an awfully tough sell making folks roll up Cardassians then tell them "Sorry, the Galor and Keldon aren't available."

VERY good point, I think. Old-guard players might be up-in-arms at the idea that these hard-to-get ships suddenly become easy to get.

I will say this though - re-engineering Spiral Wave Disruptors will make them mean Mean MEAN guns ...

I think we're all in the same boat of the game not being stale to us, but with that said, they won't push something that clearly hasn't worked as per expectations.

They've already had two sub-factions pushed if you think of it, the Romulans - and the TOS Fed. The demand for these characters post launch speak for themselves - it's why I think they will be pushing something, but perhaps not any further sub-factions.

The reason for that is, the TOS Fed was welcomed as they were solely aligned towards FED - heck, no one even realized it actually is a subfactions. It was a great execution strategy and showed Cryptic learned from Romulan subfaction implementation. As exciting as it is to see more playable species, the break of canon to see them with Fed or Klingon alliance breaks its emersion in end-game.

That's my thought on it anyway, I could be totally wrong but that's what I noticed when they were bringing in TOS Fed - not many people realized it to actually be a sub-faction of its own.

To me, this seems a huge possibility. More admiralty reputations.

Agreed, another reason why I don't think they'll be launched as playable faction. Then again, Cryptic can get creative and ultimately it'd be Cryptic's envisioned Cardassians ships on Z-Store and the freebie ones, with the canon ones already lockboxed.

In general though, I like all the blogs and more transparency STO devs have started with the game. I hope this continues throughout the year and so does more flow of content. STO will be back to activity like the old days, its not outdated at all gameplay wise.

I wonder if the Orville MMO would be more Star Trek than Star Trek Online.

I guess that depends on which version of Star Trek you're referencing.
A The Orville MMO probably would be more Trek than Trek because it doesn't have all the conflicting canon. It's less cluttered with competing versions of itself.

For myself, I don't think I could stick with a straight Orville MMO because I'm not a fan of the Planetary Union's ship designs. But make it the Nu Sector with wormhole access to STO, and I'm in.

I just wish they had more content missions and there was more things you could do individually - like it would be good if you could explore more of the interior of your own ship or if you could colonise your own planet and build things on it like too!

Technically you can do this already with the doff system with the nebula(s). Unfortunately it wont be visually like our new fleet holding type of building. Speaking of the new holding, as much hate as it gets, its pretty neat to me the phases its going with seeing the base being built up. From the buildings to power stations and the interaction of the aliens with each other with building process.

I’m on Xbox so I don’t have the joys of a fully functioning starbase unfortunately like on PC the Xbox clan bases are..... still WIPs lol
