Side note: I finished Mobile Suit Gundam: Origin I-VI and thoroughly enjoyed it all 7+ hours. I think they could have shaved an episode of drama but, meh. Overall, it's really Char Aznable's tale of how he came to be "The Red Comet", as almost every other character in the original Gundam series have either barely any screen time (Bright Noah) or a minimal amount in order to tie them to the Origin series and original (Amuro, I'm looking at YOU).

I'd recommend it, but dear lawdy don't binge it. Maybe one episode a week.

I love SAO, so I've been meaning to watch GGO Alt. I'll get around to it before Alicization comes out.

I've got to say, Cells at Work is probably my favorite show of the summer.

So I'll jump in here and say that while I'm not current on most anime, I loved watching Sword Art Online. I tend to be a little cynical in nature while watching anime, like the hero tendency of 'If my attack isn't working, I'll just scream louder and that'll make it work' or 'I'm going to attack you but first we'll stand off against one another and growl for twenty minutes' (I'm looking at you Dragonball Z).

Admittedly, most of my favourite animes are ages old, like Dominion:Tank Police. I remember when they first started to appear on VHS in the early 90's under the Manga label and we got Legend of the Overfiend, Venus Wars and RG Veda, some were twisted as all hell, especially the Overfiend and then we come to Akira. Stunning animation and visuals, awesome soundtrack but surreal as anything.

I started to watch a new series where spirit characters appear wielding legendary weapons and have huge fights, but I can't remember the name.

I watched Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters on Netflix last month and ...it took a few sessions to finish it. The build-up to the last 30 minutes was not really worth it.

THEN I found out it's a movie series /facepalm because part 2 City on the Edge of Battle was released.

I don't want to throw around words like "boring" or "terrible" or even "what is this crap", so I won't. But I really think they jumped the shark or at least got on the bike, sped up the ramp and never came down. At this point you will have to pay me to watch the last half (or at least after they find Mechgodzilla) in actual gold bullion hand polished by illegal child labor using cloth made with tweezer-plucked Panda fur.

So yeah. I might be wrong, but I'm okay with that.

I've heard it isn't great...

On a completely different line, if folks haven't watched Yuru Camp, I strongly recommend it. It's just so laid back and relaxing, without being boring

For those who like OP protagonists in fantasy settings, I recommend "How not to summon a demon lord".

Its literally right up there with "Smart phone in another world", "Death march to a Parallel World" and "Overlord". Literally the exact same concept.

I quite enjoy them.

I don't think Godzilla is very interesting either. I kept falling asleep while watching the first movie. Funny that you mention MechaGodzilla, as that's a central theme in the second movie. I just watched the second movie, and it wasn't as bad as the first, though still not great. It finishes with an after credits scene setting up what seems to be a more exciting Godzilla 3. I grew up loving the old Godzilla movies, so I keep giving these movies a chance, but I agree with you. The first movie was terribly boring. I didn't fall asleep once while watching the second. That's about as good a review as I can give without spoilers though.

I saw the first part and my reaction was along the lines of WTF?? It's the laziest form of writing and rehashes the old 'tortured hero somehow knows better than everyone else' trope. oh, and when a course of action fails, he just screams louder to make it work. Speeder bike attack didn't work? It was clearly nothing to do with the fact that you're attacking a three hundred foot monster that seems impervious to heavy artillery, but you go ahead and scream louder, maybe that will make your tiny calibre bullets will work this time. *eyeroll*

I have been watching Rosario+Vampire and Nil Admirari no Tenbin: Teito Genwaku Kitan. The first one is about a cute female vampire with pink hair and her boyfriend who is a human who accidentally enrolls into a monster school.

The second one is about this girl who has the ability to see cursed books and their auras...she joins this group ("Imperial Library Intelligence Asset Management Bureau," more commonly referred to as "Fukurou." ) to safely take away these cursed books and sanitize them so they wont harm people. And she continues to investigate them.

Anyone have any recommendation in which order to watch the various Fate! series?

Not watched much anime recently, was working off my regular show netflix list (which is equally waaay too long). One of the last items watched was My Hero Academia, though for some reason I can't get into it. Seems to be quite popular and everyone and their mum loves it, but I got bored of it around 7 or so episodes in, which is unusual, tend to watch most anime really and so far not found much otherwise that I'd abort watching.
