I am a Trek fan of 40 years. I loved TNG and DS9. and I will admit that I enjoyed ENT as well. I am new to the game. Just became a Gold Level member, but still not sure if I will keep up the subscription. My character is based on Darien Wallace, everybody's favorite extra from TNG! I am also building an away team/bridge crew based on lesser known junior officers/cadets from the series. so canon is important to me.
IRL, I am an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and rated for disaster relief, so I may be deployed for long stretches in the event of a natural disaster. (Hope this does not become an issue!) This was a bucket list job that I took a few years ago after my first struggle with cancer. Prior to that, I was an English teacher at a major university on the west coast of Mexico.
I am also an award-winning freelance writer and I have had some success in the print publishing industry. I wrote the framework and even fleshed out part of a DS9 novel but quickly abandoned the project when I realized how hard it is to break into franchise publication. (Seems no one is very interested in stories set during the 2nd Cardassian occupation with Quark as a protagonist... go figure.)
I am not sure how I will be able to contribute to such a large and long-established fleet, but I hope you will give me a chance to try!
