So I got this Cardassian Intel Escort and I'm trying to get it to Level V Mastery. I'm running from Deep Space Encounter to Deep Space Encounter in the Beta Quadrant. Lots of Borgs and Klingons and Orions dying painful deaths. What is the LAST thing we would expect to see in one of these DSEs?

Well, I suppose they need someplace to show off their bling besides ESD and DS9. Sooner or later they'll need to blow the cobwebs out of the torpedo tubes.
It's basically the Cadillac Escalade of ships... you'll never take it offroading but I guess it looks pretty.

Nicknames for them have been the flying frying pan, but I call it the flying pizza cutter... Insanely huge, round and flat. I wonder what the trek people were thinking in Enterprise when they thought that ship up? It was Doug Drexler who designed the ship. He admitted that the model got bashed out in a few hours as he wasn't given much time to do it and had to think fast.

Seems to me it's more like one of those "technology test bed" International Auto Show cars. Ones that will never make production but look really cool.
Like the Mustang I, Mustang II and Mustang III Prototypes. Or the Cadillac 16.

The Enterprise was usually the flagship of the federation so maybe the Ent-J was perhaps the one ship for that purpose, to be the staple of the federation.
